I am in desperate "want" of a tubal reversal surgery! I had my tubes tied after being blessed with my daughter and I just recently gave my princess to the Lord at the age of 2. I've heard that hey are expensive and insurance rarely pays. Are there any programs that pay for this surgery? Where are the best docters? I currently living in NC but, I am moving to OH soon. I've did my "homework" on the internet but, I would like to hear some real life experiences!

The problem is that most female sterilizations these days are done with cut-and-burn processing. They don't just tie your tubes in a knot and pray for the best (as was the case several decades back); instead, they sever the tubes and then cauterize them. If that is the case with your own reproductive organs, there is next to no chance of it ever being repaired. If you want another biological child your best option at this point is to have your eggs harvested and try for IVF, or find a surrogate.

My aunt had a tubal reversal surgery. She had both tubes cut and tied in 1989 after already having two children. She got remarried in 1997 and her husband didn't have any children of his own. In 1999, she had the surgery to reverse it which cost around $10,000 and her insurance (through a her husbands Laborers Union) did not cover it. The doctor could only fix one tube and told her that she only had a one in ten chance of conceiving. He also said that after a year of trying her chances would severely decrease. After trying for a few months she went back to the doctor and they shot dye through her good tube (to make sure it was open and able to carry sperm through.) She got pregnant about one year later and had a healthy, happy baby girl. It worked for her and she is currently trying to conceive again. This happened in West Virginia. Good luck to you!

I read that it is possible although the results are not guaranteed. Some say that it may be easier to go through Invitro but even that isn't guaranteed. I am sorry to hear of your loss and I wish you the best of luck.
