Sounds like colic. My son used to cry for hours on end. I switched him to soy formula which helped, and then one day it just went away.....Colic is something he will outgrow on his own (almost always by 4 mos).

Dont let your baby cry. Crying is his/her voice. They can not talk and so it is a means of communcation. Studies have found that those that say a baby should cry are wrong. The best well adjusted teens and adults are those who parents did not let them keep crying but instead attended to the problem for the tears.
My first guess is that it is the formula or the method you are feeding. It may be causing colic or he is alergic to it. Tell the doctor you want to change the diet and try something else. You have to speak up and tell him this is what you want to do.
Also make sure the bottle does not allow air to pass into the stomach. Get the kind with the inner bags and proper nipples. These bags keep air out. Colic is generally caused by air trapped in stomach or interstines and it causes pain. Burp him often and never lay him down with a bottle, this is bad for colic. Feed in your arms, burp him, and the lay him down. Make sure when you lay him down you swaddle him. Babies like being in tight places like the mothers womb (for first year). No pillows in crib or loose blankets as this is bad for baby. Take a light thin blanket and tighly wrap up the baby and lay on back to sleep. Make sure baby is not too warm or cold. Babies have delicate temperature mechanisms and can get too hot or cold.
Some babies with allergies cry alot too. When you baby cries check to see what could be wrong. If nothing noticable, find a way to soothe baby. Serene music really helps. Get some Cd's of Rain, birds, waterfalls, or wind. Play them when ever baby is uncomfortable. It really helps. Even try the baby songs as long as they are soft.
Also they have a baby seat that bounces with movement. They are wonderful. Each time the baby moves it vibrates and baby is soothed.
Dont let the baby keep you unhappy solve the problems.

He may have colic or gas - it can be extremely painful. Give him some of the drops that are designed for children at each feeding. If that doesn't work, I would investigate the formula that you are feeding. Also, I have seen a lot of mothers give the baby cold formula - heat it up to comfortable touch for you before feeding. One other thing I found useful was to warm a towel and hold it against the baby's tummy. It is a little early for teeth, so if these don't work, take him back to the doctor and get some help. I know it can be very stressful when a baby cries. See if you can find someone to keep him occupied for several hours so you can get some rest.

My son was diagnosed with acid reflux for similar symptoms. he was put on a liquid medicine, I believe it was Zantac. Super common according to my day care provider. Made a huge difference. Now he only takes it at night (5 months old) and is such a happy guy! I would ask, and if your doctor doesn't listen, find someone who does! My friend has a colicy baby who was only happy when she was carried in a sling, but she was a cryer from birth. If this is a change, it could be reflux. Good luck! And don't feel bad if you have to let him cry for 15 minutes so you can have a bit of chocolate and a mental rest!

Sounds like colic. Your baby might have reflux too. You need to take him to another doctor that will take this problem more seriously and give you some more input. It could just be colic and refulx, but it could be something else. My baby had colic and once we got a prescription for Zantac her crying got much better and so did the spitting up. I know it's really hard, but just try to keep calm and see if you can get a friend or family member to help you out and give you breaks. I know it seems like it now, but it won't last forever. Good luck.

Consider getting a second opinion from another doctor. If you have taken him to the doctor and established that there isn't anything wrong with him then I would suggest...
1. Take him for a ride in the car. The purr of the engine will help to calm him down.
2.. Pick him up. Carry him and sing something gentle. My nephew had colic and I used to sing gently in tongues while holding him He always seemed to enjoy it, would stop crying and go to sleep. (ask an Assembly of God pastor of church member if you don't understand what I mean about this.)
3. Try playing gentle music for him.
Hope this helps.

It sounds like your baby has colic. You can remedy it by making a very light chamomile tea, and giving it to him in a bottle, or get some mylecon from the drugstore. It helps. Colic is a type of gas that's very extreme. When the baby gets this pain, they'll draw their knees up and scream out. When my son was a baby I would hold him close to my chest and rock him, or put him in a swing. That helps. When the baby turns 3 months, the colic will disappear and you'll have a much happier baby. Good Luck!! Let me know how this turns out.

When a baby cries you're supposed to try and figure out WHY he is crying, is he wet, is he "poopy" is he hungry, is he tired, does he have an ear ache, a tummy ache, is he cholicy, does he have a stuffy nose. Of course putting a crying baby in his room only makes it worse, you're not fixing whatever problem he has. You're his mother do your job and learn how to parent your child. I suggest you call your social services office and ask about parenting classes because from what you've posted you really have no parenting skills and had better get some fast.

I would try a different doctor and formula. Soy formula might help it could also be colic but some people say there is no such thing as colic. You need to talk to the doctor it isn't OK for a baby to cry so much good luck with this

You are right! It is the babies formula. Try soy baby formula and make sure you offer him bottled water at room tempurature in a bottle in between. Massaging his belly is helpful as well. If you look at the formula and compare it to breast milk - it looks like glue. Much thicker than breastmilk. That is why his belly is upset. It is cramping. If you will notice, when he cries he draws his legs up to his abdomen. This is a sign of pain. In addition, another sign he is showing you is spitting up. Continue to mix the formula just like it says on the bottle or can and only offer him two to four ounces at a time and in between offer the water. You will see a noticable difference.

A car ride maybe? A tiny bit of jucie? Pacifier? I think you should find another doctor. my duaghter spit up alot and they chagned her milk to Nutramigen which was a miracle!
Good luck, though! I know it can be tough! Email me if you have any other questions, I jus twent through what you're going through...
