Slacks are defiantly professional- especially with a blazer or a nice blouse.

I see no reason why a woman couldn't wear feminine business slacks at work, I think it's no better or worse than a skirt. We've come a long way, so I don't think wearing pants or skirts is a major issue in the workplace for women anymore.

I've grown up wearing only dresses or skirts except when going skiing or hunting or something, so maybe my opinion don't matter, but I would say skirts are a lot more professional, slack were first made to be womens casual clothes, but as more and more started to wear caual clothes to work it started being considered professional. Anyway, when I see someone in a skirt it always strikes me as more professional...and it makes you look nicer ;)

Slacks are professional. Just no denim, no capris, no hip huggers.
