She used to always love to go. She would even cry when we picked her up. Now I am pregnant again and she will not go. They want me to make her come. But I don't want her to feel abandoned. I also feel they might have said something to her about the baby coming that made her insecure. My mother-in-law has no children(she is stepmom to my husband) & she is always saying things like give her to me or let her live with us. She tries to tell me she will be spoiled & bad if I don't make her go. They also tend to try & keep her longer than I say she can stay by going through my husband.Last time she went she told me that she wanted me but they wouldn't bring her home. I am really confused at what to do. I don't want to start a family problem, but I also know this is stressing out my little one & I am worried if I do the wrong thing I could hurt the bond I have with my child. I am the mother of 4 girls & one on the way & I have never had a problem like this.

I love all the advice that I am getting and I am taking action immediatley.. I do feel bad for not doing something about this earlier but better now then never... I am so upset about it and I feel bad that I had my little girl exposed to this.

I thought that she would have been safe at a school boy!! was I wrong. She is doing Ok right now, but I am going to tape her saying it because you ladies are right the teachers are going to stick together and make it seem as if she is making it up. I know my daughter and she has never talked that way until now.. Someone is doing something too her and I am not going to tolerate it. SHe is not going to that school anymore because I now have fear of the school...

I wish that I could give you all 10 points but I can't... Thank you so much....

I'm 3 weeks away from returning to work after a year of maternity leave. I know practically every mother must go through this, but as the higher income in my family, and the one with all the benefits as each day passes I find myself getting more and more depressed and angry that I need to return to work and can't stay home with my baby.

It's not rational and I know it... I knew our situation all along, but it's like I'm suddenly blaming my husband for the fact that I have to go back (because he doesn't have a better job than I do.)

I've found a great in-home daycare run by a friend of mine. I know my baby will be in good hands, but no hands are as good as mine. It kills me to think that I have to pay someone gobs of money to do something that I desperately wish I could be doing myself.

I read somewhere that you actually have to mourn the loss of the dream of staying home with your baby and then get over it, but seriosuly how long does that take and how do you do it?

I have a neighbour with 5 kids. She is a loser who is on welfare and does not discipline her kids AT ALL! I'm not kidding. They are so horribly behaved that NOBODY in our town will babysit them. I think they need a really good spanking. In fact, I've been tempted to slap them myself but I'd get in trouble. They are completely awful kids. Do you think they need a really good spanking? My buddy disagrees. Mind you her kid's a spoiled brat too but not as bad. I think a good spanking is needed when all else fails. What do you think? (I now completely avoid this neighbour because I feel like slapping her kids whenever I go over there). Yes, they ARE that bad!! They have NO manners and act like f*cking barnyard animals. They don't even act like human beings. They act like little spoiled animals who have to have their own way. It's sickening and I realize it's mostly the mother's fault for being too damned lazy to discipline her kids. She just gives them whatever they want to shut them up!

I have had vaginal dryness, decreased sex drive, no periods (that is great) BUT I have recently had some problems retaining water and I cannot even wear my wedding rings.
I am thinking of NOT getting my next, which would be my 3rd, shot on Nov 15th because I have this water retention and it is painful.
I would like to know if anyone else has had this AND what other side effects you have experienced.

I was reading Babytalk magazine and I was appalled to see that a woman actually said that it was disgusting. Can anyone tell me why it is gross to give a child the nutrients that he or she deserves? My daughter was breastfed and I plan to breastfeed my son (He is due in February). I do not intend to feed him in a dressing room or in a bathroom, I also do not plan on staying home for the first year of his life. Why are people so uptight?

Can anyone recommend a cleaner or method of cleaning for a high chair tray? We've been fine with water and, sometimes, dish soap to clean the tray, but now she's starting to have teethin biscuits and I was thinking some sort of baby-safe Formula 409 would be better.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Many thanks!

I stopped the pill on the 6th of October and got my period on the 11th of October. My period stopped on the 16th of October. I think I was Ovulating between the 21st of october and the 27th of October and I had sex last night and on saturday and he ejaculated in me. If I have sex on wednesday am I doing the right thing?. Would my chances of becoming pregnant higher?. Even though I stopped taking the pill I have been getting the normal discharge and I think I am fertile!.

My friend had a miscarriage last week, and worried about her partner. He hasn't really opened up about how he feels, and has only said that he is worried about her state of mind.
For those of you who have been through this, can you tell me how your partners dealt with miscarriages, and the stages that you, as a couple have gone through to overcome the feelings that you have had?
Just so we are clear, this isn't one of those situations where I say 'my friend' but mean 'me'.
I just want to get a better understanding of the situation so that I can be of some help to her throughout her time of loss.

I usually breastfeed, but would like to try formula for the odd feed. I'm happy with sterilising all the 'equipment', but wondered why the water should not be reboiled. If I put freshly boiled and cooled water in a bottle (no powder) ready for a feed, how long is it ok to use?

I understand that there are provincial guidelines of what our kids should be learning in what grade/age, etc... But when do kids get to be kids? I have two children- a girl who is 12 in December (grade 7), and my son is 7 (grade 2). My husband and I got a YMCA family pass 3 weeks ago, and haven't been able to use it because the kids have too much homework. Plus- you feel pressured for them to do it because it seems like a reflection on you as a parent... I just feel like kids are just too overwhelmed, and in truth it's hard to do fun things during the week as a family...
It is like information overload for them... Sometimes they just need to be kids
What do you think?
