Hello.

I would imagine that every woman has their own way to answer that question individually but If I were the one to answer that I
would tell you,...The pushing takes only a matter of minutes and it's all over with, you never remember the pain once you set ur
eye's on your beautiful little precious one.

The contractions are the toughest, most painful.

I would never recommend an epidural or spinal in any way.

Go through it Naturally and you'll both be better off in the long run.

Good Luck and God Bless.

I agree with the girl who said get an epidural. You wont be sorry. I had my first baby with no meds at all and the contractions hurt worse than pushing, coz by the time I was pushing it was happening so fast I didn't have time to think about what was going on. With my second, I had an epidural, and I didn't feel a thing, and I mean nothing. It made it a little harder to push and I had to be told when I was having a contraction, and the birth took longer(my first was one hour, my second was 4, of pushing), but why go thru the pain if you dont have to?

Well, every woman's labor is different. My sister had 3 and she said she didn't hurt that bad at all. I had 5 and never used anything for the pain and the closer the contractions got the worse they felt. Once I was able to push that didn't hurt at all. I mean weather you push are not the baby is going to push itself. But no pushing doesn't hurt at all. Once the head is out the pain subsides. You may have a few after birth pains nothing a little medication can't handle. It's the postpartum depression that might get you.

I would have to say that the contractions hurt more than the actual pushing (although 'crowning' was no picnic). I gave birth completely naturally (no pain meds)... and found that labor/delivery wasn't nearly as bad as everyone had been telling me it was going to be. I think everyone has a different pain tolerance and every pregnancy/birth is different. Like my Grandma said to me before I delivered... "It's not something I'd like to do everyday, but it's not as bad as a lot of women say". And she gave birth to 6 kids (including twins) naturally. There is no shame in getting an epidural or pain reliever if you feel you need it... there are pros and cons though... so educate yourself. Nature has a great way of easing the pain (for both you and your baby) when you give birth naturally... and you can be up and about almost immediately after delivery if you so desire.

For me, it's definitely the contractions! They hurt SOOO bad. Then I had epidurals, but they wore off before I started pushing. So I did get a little break. I think by the time you actually start pushing, your adrenaline kicks in, and you just get so excited that the pain is dulled. When you're ready to push, the urge is just unbearable. Don't get me wrong, pushing hurt, too, but when I was able to push, the pain was manageable.

The worst pain for me was at the point when the baby's head was 'crowning'. It's an intense stinging pain. It doesn't last long once you have pushed the baby's head out.

i thought that the contractions hurt more. the pressure of the baby pretty much numbs you when you're pushing.
