OK I wasn't sure where to ask this question, but everyone on all the parenting boards are very helpful :)

So I just had my baby 8 weeks ago and started on the patch and now I am hearing about even young women dying from blood clots caused by the estragen in the patch. It apparently has 60% more estragen than the pill. What do you know about this and is it serious enough that I should stop using them now, or can I at least use the ones I have before I switch?

My baby is 6 1/2 weeks old. We switched to Gentlease (from Enfamil Lipil with Iron) to help ease the gas. My baby has gas that often makes her have fits. (I use gas drops and Dr. Brown bottles both seem to slightly help.) We tried Gentlease for about 5 days. Things seemed to be getting better, but then got worse again. I feel like maybe I should have just stuck with is longer. I switched to soy though. We had some hard times with that too. Overall (now) things seemed to be about the same as they were with Gentlease (or maybe slightly worse as far as how much gas she has). I do notice that she spits up more with Prosobee (soy) and burps easier. The "fits" seemed to have reduced overall, but she still has the gas. I really feel that it wakes her up at night. She only sleeps 2 or 3 hours at a time and usually wakes up trying to fart. Should I stick with Prosobee or go back to Gentlease? (The ONE time that she slept for 5 1/2 hours at night was when she was on Gentlease??)

I think most of you completely misunderstood my question.

First of all, let's get one thing out of the way. Yes, the molestor is the one ultimately at fault for doing what child molestors do. No question about that.

But, if you read the news and you read studies, you will find that about 1 in 4 females in America, has been sexually molested as a child. And over 75% of them were molested by someone that was either in the family or was considered a friend of the family.

Is everyone still following me? Good.

Now, if mothers - ALL mothers - just became a little bit smarter and stopped being so gullible and trusting, then they could prevent over 90% of the molestations happening today.

Mothers should simply not leave their children around men unsupervised. Period

Now I know there are a few female molestors, but compared to men the ratio is tiny.

As far as fathers being responsible too. I would say yes. But ultimately, the mother is the one who has to step up, because some...

Ok, so my husband and I have been ttc for a while. 2 days ago I went to the doctors for a uti. I am on medicine. Now, I have heard of women getting a really bad uti when they become preganant. My question is how many of you have and if not have you heard of this as well? I am due for my period today, but not showing any signs of it coming. I am planning on testing but I am afraid of a negative result. Also with the uti, even though I know it is common to bleed alittle with them, I had a browninsh blood. Could that have been impolantation bleeding. I did also have a little cramping during that time, which was a week ago. Please give me some opinions. Thank you and I greatly appreciate any help that anyone can give me.

My girlfriend and I take extra precautions when having sex by her being on the pill and me using a condom most of the time. She has been on the pill (YAZ) going on three months now. Last month she started to have nose bleeds which are kind of out of the ordinary for her. I know that changing weather conditions and dry air can cause them but I also know that on rare occasions people get them during pregnancy. Her breasts are a little bigger as well. She says her breasts are not sore though. I know the pill can cause a female's breasts to get bigger so I am hoping that is it. She takes her second sugar pill today and has 2 left so I hope her period comes. She does not seem to be worried but she took a pregnancy test today to be safe (a first response-up to 5 days before-test). It came out negative but she did not use her first morning urin to test it, but it was only her second urination of the day. How much could this affect it? Should I still be worried? I am 22 and scared.

I was suppose to have my monthly on sunday or mondayish. (last was from sept 17-21) I went off the pill on September 14th. I'm think I'm going to give it one more week before I test again.

If you have gotten off the pill before:
how long did it take you to get pregnant?
or
when did you have your first monthly after stoping the pill?

Ok I live with my husband and his grandparents and his one brother. Till my husband finishes college. My husband goes to school full time and works part time. Myself have been hired for a job on the weekends because where I am hired they do not have a 5:30pm shift through the week. So during the time while everyone is at work or school I'm at home with my son taking care of him granted I do my husbands and I side of the house cleaning. Plus do the odds and ends of things on the part of the house we all share such as dishes cleaning the living room. Picking up after everyone else cuz by time they get home from working they throw their shoes and whatever else there is in the floor of the living room. Eat dinner and never bother to do dishes that night. Then my husband ask me to help him with his school work on top of it. Am I being takin advantage of? Yeah I know I don't work much now but I still have a kid to. What is your opinion?

I have been trying to get pregnant for months and i'm starting to wonder if there is something wrong with me. When i was 15 i was raped and became pregnant and was forced to have an abortion. I have a four year old son and when he was 9months i concieved again. (well at this time me and his father called it quits and decided against my beliefs, having an abortion would be the best option. (he lived in california and me on michigan, and one baby on my own was all I could handle) Well i'm remarried to a man i love woth all my heart and i want to give him a baby, he has loved and raised my son as his own for almost three years now. Every month i get excited and the day before i go buy a pregnancy test i get my period. I very scared that my abortions have taken away any chance of me being able to give the man i love what he so desperatley wants to be a part of with me. I have no insurance and I'm scared if i find out i can't concieve he won't want to spend his life with me I'm scared Sugg?

Of the over 100 babies that are abandoned each year in Texas, about 16 will be found dead. An unknown number of murdered babies are never found. There is a solution. A Texas law provides a responsible alternative to mothers who might otherwise abandon, harm or murder a newborn child. It states that a parent may leave an unharmed infant, up to 60 days old, at any hospital or fire station with “no questions asked.” This law is nicknamed "The Baby Moses Law" from the ancient story of baby Moses who was abandoned, but was saved and grew to become an important person.

Wow, I didn't stop to think that others might not be familiar with this law. Sorry about that. Just think if your state does not pratice this type of law what does one do? I just wondered if anyone has heard if this law is working? We always hear the bad but what about the good? What do you think about this law?

What do you guys think?

I would say yes, she is very much responsible, because by now, mothers should have figured out that you can't trust any male around your child. Just read the news. Uncles, brothers, priests, "friends," even fathers molest their own daughters.. It is more common than one would think.

I think an intelligent mother would not risk her child's health and welfare.

Some guys may be offended by this, but that's just tough luck. A good mother should much rather want to "offend" her brothers or her father or priest than to risk her child being molested.
