I am only 9 weeks pregnant and i am already gaining weight, i eat right and all that. but i am already getting bigger, is it possible at 9 weeks or is it just fat? my stomach is hard already and i thought that didnt happen till you were like 4 or 5 months. Is it normal to be getting bigger already?

All I can say is everyone is different. My friend looked 9 months pregnant when she was 4 months along. (poor thing- everyone swore she was having twins.) I didn't show till about 5 months nor did I gain weight. Try to talk to your mom and see what her pregnancy was like- they usually are somewhat simalr. Don't worry about it, just keep eating healthy. That baby needs that weight!

Everyone is different. Depending on how much weight you are gaining, it could be normal. Alot of women (myself included) lose weight the first trimester...) and some gain weight then. Make sure you are eating right, lots of healthy foods and lots of fruits and veggies are a good thing to focus on. Plus...make sure you drink alot of fluids (cut back on soda and caffine drinks).

The reason your tummy gets hard is because of the baby, and because your uterus is growing...which is filled with fluid. At this point, you probably arent feeling the hardness of your uterus quite yet...its not nearly big enough to make a difference yet.

Alot of first time moms (myself, again included) think they are 'showing' early, when in fact it is bloating you are noticing (hence the change in size...perhaps in the evening your belly seems bigger than first thing in the morning). It is caused from eating more food, and your organs moving around in there to accomadate your growing uterus...or it could even be from not havign a bowel movement in a while.

I dont think you have anythign to worry about right now. You will notice changes in your body and may even noctice yourself 'showing' before anyone else does. I remember when I first started growing a bit, I was all excited and even my husband couldnt tell a difference...but *I* could.

Alot of women want to show right away...they are excited abtou being pregnant, which is a good thing, however be patient...depending on your body size/style (thin, a little extar weight, athlectic, etc), you will show at different times. If your stomach muscles are very tight and strong, you will take longer to show. Eventually, you will be as big as a house and want to be SMALLER! :)

Make sure you make a doc appt ASAP, and if anything is wrong, they will let you know for sure.

Is this your first pregnancy? If its your first you are more likely not to show that early. But every pregnancy is different. I wouldn't be concerned about a little weight gain at 9 weeks unless you are eating cr*p. As long as you are eating healthy and drinking lots of water and milk, thats whats important right now. Your body might be preparing maternal stores and retaining water which could be adding the extra pounds so early.

it depends on many things. Women bodies react different to a huge change like a pregnancy is. Is it your 1st pg? if it is not, usually women startto show earlier because the muscles are more relaxed than a woman that hasn't have babies. Also, your metabolism changes a lot and even though you are feeding yourself correctly (as you say) you are putting some weight already. Try walking or excersising, it will help you keep in "better shape"plus it is healthy for you and your baby. The same thing happened to me (being a 1st time mom) and my dr told me to avoid sugars and carbohydrates (only one a day...never at dinner) and to walk a lot...or swim. Good luck and congratulations on the pregnancy.

It depends on how much weight you're gaining. You're only supposed to gain about 3 - 5 lbs. in the first 3 months (13 weeks). Then about 1 lb. per wk during months 4 - 6. See you Dr.
