He has always been great with his nap and night time routine, but for the last week he fights it! I can be flexible a little on the routine, but he shows all signs of being sleepy and ready for his nap/bedtime, but when I go forth the process and lay him down he get upset and yells at me. At first the problem was teething, but thats done and now that he can stand and walk around in his crib he wants to get out and play or just hang out with mommy. I'm an attachment parenting style mommy, so "crying it out" is out of the question, but I've tried every thing else and I'm feeling frustrated and exhausted. any advice or experiance stories?

I have a set of twin boys who are 2 yrs old. They are a handful. They are so hyper that when I take them to church or to a birthday party they are little destructo's. People look at me like I don't correct them but we put them in time out and they will not stay. They bite, hit each other, push, you name it and they are doing it. HELP!!! I don't know what else to do. They are embarrising me out in public by throwing tantrums and head banging. They are constantly getting hurt by one another cause they will not listen and mind me. They are more less you can say climbing the walls and I've tried everything. People say they are just being boys but all of my nephews are the same age as they are and they are very calm and you give them a toy and they play with it for ever. You give mine a toy and they throw it down and take off running and doesn't pay attention where they are going and falls and gets some more bruises. I wish they would just calm down. Are they accident prone ???HELP!!!!!

A really good friend of mine had a baby in june and he has been battling congestive heart failure and a problem with one of the valves in his heart since birth. the doctors were trying to hold off on surgury hoping he would gain some wait and become stronger.
He was rushed back to the hospital about a week ago gasping for air. the doctors say they have to operate or he'll die and he may die during surgery. the also say the don't know how there going to go about with the surgery. he is 3 months old and weighs 9 pounds. his surgery is scheduled for this week could anybody out there who believes in the power of prayer please say one for this baby. if you do not believe then just close the question and go on with your day.

For example: Say you are in the supermarket, and your6 year old kid is whining over a toy he wants. However, he already picked out something else and he agreed to pick only one thing. Now the whining has escalated into a fit, and you tell him firmly in a raised voice to shape up or get ready for a spanking. Kid shapes up immediately. However, a few women walk past you muttering about child abuse under their breath and glare at you.

If you agree this scenario is child abuse, what should a parent do? In this case, leaving the store is not an option because you are picking up weekly grocery and won't have time to do it later, and it's for necessities: diapers for the baby, food for the house, toilet tissue, lunch prep... etc

Very interested in hearing why someone would consider correcting a child in this manner ( firm talk, option to end the behavior, or the option of a swat on the bottom) is abuse. Kid was not spanked at all. He opted to chill out.

my mom does not understand why i was so depressed after my bf and i broke up he was my fist bf and everything else but i also became pregnant and was for 5 months. She was suspicious and took me to the doctor because i was gaining weight but by then i was already miscarrying. So i told her it had just been a scare. I had one other scare in january from what she thinks but the blood test i took was too early and the doctor told me to come back in two weeks i did not tell my mom that. I did go back on my own 3 weeks later and i was pregnant. I was so depressed i stopped eating very much and all i wanted to do was sleep after my bf broke up with me. We got back together a month and half later secretly because after that suposed scare my parents hated him. But the relationship was really bad lots of stress and fights took place.

I do have a long torso, and I know my uterus is growing the way it should. But, I still can't help but worry about not looking like I'm 6months pregnant. He moves all the time, and they're really strong movements that go from my pubic line up past my belly button, and then sometimes he moves along my sides. Does he have enough room in there if my tummy isn't sticking way out? I do look pregnant just not 6months. Will I eventually pop out? Thanks

I've been dealing with my father in law babysitting 3 days a week since my daughter was 6 weeks old, she's now 4. Over the years, I haven't approved of things he does with my daughter. I can over come that, sometimes. But do you find it hard to have someone come into YOUR home and watch your child? I'm 7 months pregnant, drive 1 hour each way to work. I feel like all I do is clean. He has no respect for me what-so-ever. It's very frustrating to come home to a mess. He doesn't make my daughter clean up her toys or anything. He leaves the messs for me. When I have my baby and come back to work in February, both of my in-laws will be in my house babysitting both kids 3 days a week. I don't know how much more of this I can take.
It's very nice of him to offer to watch my child, but he's an idiot. He has no common sense at all. My child gets sick, he calls my mother in law for advice, not me. I can't afford daycare full time, she's already there 2 days a week.

Let me try this again. I just want to hear some funny stories about advice given to you by grandparents. I am not asking for help to deal with grandparents in any way because fortunately they live far away. For example.. I was told to put my son to sleep on his belly and to put cereal in his bottle when he was 2 weeks old because he wasn't sleeping through the night. Obviously it had been a while since they had kids. It's amazing how times change and ways to raise children change.

Im late for my period, and I just took a Clear Blue Easy Digital pregnancy test. It said Not Pregnant. So im thinking, ok, yeaaa!! But I went and ejected the test stick, and to my suprise, it had a strong blue line, and another clearly faint line. Does that mean anything? Or Im just too worried?

Then what's with people saying kids are undisciplined these days. They blame the mythological end of spanking for it. Yet, most of the country still spanks.

No amount of sleep (though with a newborn nobody really gets much sleep), no amount of food, and no amount of water helped. I was very weak. My 8 pound baby felt like holding 80 pounds. Walking from the couch to the bathroom (about 10 feet) was like walking 10 miles. Holding a simple conversation was like solving difficult math problems. This lasted for about a month then I slowly regained my strength and eating and drinking felt normal again. I feel completely normal now but has anyone experienced this?

My 4 yr old daughter is having corrective eye surgery on 9-20. She has Strabismus and Amblyopia. For you who have experienced this, What should we expect after we bring her home? I know what all the dr has told us, I have the printouts on the surgery and what to expect.. but I would like to know first hand from others who have been thru it. Were they in much pain? Did they complain of light hurting their eyes? Did they try to rub them alot? ANYTHING would help. She is having the surgery on both eyes, not just one. Thank you for sharing your experiences with me.
