Why did you decide not to breastfeed?

Were you physically unable or was it personal/emotional?

A friend of mine said she tried to breastfeed but emotionally she could not do it.

Why would someone feel this way?

I have never had a child, so please help me understand what its all about.

Breastfeeding is a personal decision and this is not an attack on those who don't or didn't breastfeed! No hate replies!

I have been trying to get PG. I did everything possible to increase my chances this cycle. My period is due to start today. I have taken the 1st Response "5 days before" PG tests today and yesterday and the results were negative. I have not gotten my period YET, nor have I had any symptoms (bloating, cramps, etc.) however I have had some minor spotting/brownish mucus. I had a miscarriage last month, when I was 5 weeks. My Dr gave me the OK to try again... do you think there is any chance I am PG? I am nervous about the neg results since when I was PG, I had low HCG and my pregnancy miscarried. Anyone have any similar experience? Any brown discharge the day of your expected period and you were PG? I am just so tired of the waiting game.

Oh, and please spare me any sarcastic rude responses!

I have two kids, ages 11 and 9, and am hiring a sitter for a school night, probably starting at about 5:30. Sitter won't have to cook, my guys'll be in bed by 8:00 and we should be back by 11:00-12:00. Any recommendations for an hourly rate? Should I pay a flat fee for the evening? Obviously, we don't get out often -- lol.

I find it quite disturbing to see a baby in a pushchair with earrings, I really think it should become law that no one should be allowed to have pierced ears til the age of consent. Besides the potential infection, it hurts like hell.

My 3 week old seems extra gassy today. Lots of tooting and just seems out of sorts today. She only wants held or wants to eat? She is bottle fed. Isn't there some kind of gas relief drops to give them, and is she too young?

I have had nausea, sore breasts and stomach cramping for about a week now. My boyfriend and I had sex the day I ovulated n it would only be 12 days now after the day conception should have taken place. I just wanted to know if I could be pregnant because it isn't time for my period to start for 4 days and I didn't think symptoms could start this early. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Ok i had my last period on july 3rd. NO period in august. I'v been charting and i believe i ovulated on the 28th of august. Possible ? I had sex that day. Got some spotting on the 4th and 5th. Did a pregnancy test on the 9th of september and was negative, and still no period ?? Could i still be pregnant or my body is going nuts ?

This is for the people bashing mothers who dont breast feed, have you people ever thought maybe some women cant? I was told by my doctor not to breast feed my son because my milk was contaminted from problems I had in my pregnancy, what was I suppose to do give him milk that could poisin him? People need to mind there business and let us parent our children the way we do, there our children and not yours!!!!!!

i had a miscarrage i went to the doctor and everything they did al kind of thing to me but they never told me about the D&C .. and they never did it. ever sinse im so worried about it and i wondering if i go now it wound be too late... does someone know!!!!!!! thanks you so much!

Come to you home and expect you to follow suit? I asked a series of questions up here to try and get a balanced view of the child-centered way of parenting.

I have a friend who thinks a baby's every whimper must be ran to. I have fully childproofed my home, and I find it senseless to run behind her every sound when she is right in the same room with me. Especially so if I am doing my homework or folding laundry or cooking dinner, or helping my older child with schoolwork.

She picks my baby up when I tell her not to. My daughter rubs her eyes and burrows into my chest when she's tired and wants to sleep. She whines when I lay her down for about 2-3 minutes or less then she's out like a light. My friend thinks my 9 month old needs to be held into sleep. However, my baby will not sleep that way. She'll just get restless and agitated.

What gives her the right to try and dictate what I do with my kids? Then try and guilt me becasue I MAKE time for myself and keeping house?

have a three year old son he has been living with my parents for last 2 years but they retiered and moved to costa rica few months ago . i live close to my college campus my parents pay for college and books/ rent sometimes still but i live next door to a frat house and live with three guy friends and work. ok i just found out yesterday that im pregnant through blood work i had done a week ago...because my periods were messed up...they started messing up in april i didnt have one...in may i didnt have one...in june i had one....in july i didnt have one...in aug i didnt have one.....and just the other day my boobs started to feel sore...and just this morning i had morning sickness....so do u think the doctor will have to give me an altrasound to figure out how far long i am....where my periods were messed up?

Is there a special place in hell specifically for mothers who choose not to breastfeed? If so, will all of the breast feeding advocates of Y!A be there to tortue those mothers who choose not to breastfeed?

It just saddens me to have read in a previous question.. that several of these women are out right passing negitive judgement on mothers who choose not to breastfeed. I did breast feed my son.. and that doesn't make me a better mother than anyone.
