Pregnancy & Parenting - 1 September 2006

My son goes to therapy for walking and speech he is very smart just has a short achilies and a texture problem. But i feel I dont want to introduce him to too many bigger boy toddler things cause he has just got walking down and still has problem with eating. He knows all about the potty and thats where you go, so I am wondering if i should sit him on it every now and then to show him thats where he should go potty? Also my friend has a son who is a month younger and he sleeps in a big boy bed, but my son is sitll in the crib and he loves his crib and hasnt ever climbed out or anything and I was wondering if keeping him in his crib is ok?? Also he still gets a bottle at night time before he goes to bed and sometimes during the day so he will get his food intake since he doesnt eat veyr many food cause of his tounge texture problem....should I take him off the bottle and if i dont is this going to ruin his teeth or anything?? Any suggestions would help, Thankyou

I have been hearing from a lot of people that it took 6 months to a year to get pregnant when they were actively trying.

My wife and I want to start trying in a few months for our first child.

Now I am paranoid it may take a year to get her pregnant as we are hoping to conceive ASAP.

We are both in our mid 20's, very healthy and have no known problems that would prevent a pregnancy.

My wife has never been pregnant before and has been on the pill for 5-6 years.

How long did it take for you (or your partner) to get pregnant when you were TRYING to get pregnant?

If it took a long time, why do you think it took so long?

I have a 1 yearold abd a 3 mos old. His sister was preemie so they are 9 mos apart. When his little sister was born she was in the hospital for a long time so I had to go to the hospital every day to see her, of course. When she got out of the hospital she had to go to the ER for vomiting incessantly which resulted in her having surgery on her stomach so I stayed with her then while he stayed with his father at home. Just last month she was back in the hospital for two weeks and I stayed with her when she had Group B strep and he stayed with his father. It just seems he cries about everyhing, and they both get the same amount of attention and love..and I let him know that he is still also my baby. He cries when I make her a bottle even if I give him one..he cries if I'm holding her and he cries if just the littlest thing, even a toy, frustrates him. It is more of a loud ear piercing scream than a cry. I don't know what to do. I love on him all the time.

My son who is 20 months old has all of his teeth and he has some mollars already. But as of this past week he has been so sick with a runny nose and it has turned into a cough. I looked inside his mouth and come to see even more molars already which I hear are his 3 year molars. Is this normal?? Im just wondering cause there isnt any room in his mouth it seems?? any ideas?

I am having a baby soon and have decided that once I have the baby (probably a month or so later) I am planning on having regular girl's nights out like once a month. My husband is totally fine with it and he encourages it but sometimes I think is this my way of not accepting my current situation - I'm a parent now and should not be going out drinking. Now I am not planning on going clubbing, just maybe a restaurant/lounge with my girlfriends (all are married or in a serious relationship). But I feel like I really missed out on those things, we were pregnant with our son on our wedding day and now I am having another and just need a release! I feel that when I didn't have children if I was out and met a woman that was out having a good old time and 2 kids at home with hubby I would think badly of her. Does anyone feel this way?

Like for a whole day?? Yesterday I was miserable & almost went to the Labort & delivery. I was having very strong & frequent 'braxton hicks' contractions. Especially when I would be up & walking - they were like a few minutes apart. They would slow up when I laid down - lasted about 6 hours & eventually I fell asleep & today they are better. Has anyone had 'false labor' and if so, how soon after did you end up in REAL labor! Obviously I'm anxious - almost 38 weeks & ready for the little guy to be here!

I really love the name Elle for a girl. I think it's beautiful yet cute yet sophisticated. The problem is, my name is Emily and everyone calls me Em. My concern is that everyone would call me Em which reminds me of the letter M and everyone would call her Elle which reminds me of the letter L. Would it be weird to name a girl Elle if people call me Em?

so heres the deal, my period was supposed to start on the 11.. but started on the 17th.. i had unprotected sex on the 16, and on the 20... now today.. 2 weeks after my period.. i have menstrual like cramps, extra discharge, and headaches.. i'm just wondering.. would i already be feeling these things? I took a hpt and it came out negative, but i think it's too early to test anyway.. anyone else have these symptoms and later find out they were pregnant? thanks!!!!!

Hi all I don't want to hear why I should wait and what your doctors said. My partner and I feel like we are ready and our doctor has given us the all clear to start again. I just want to know, what is the % chance of getting pregnant straight after a m/c with out getting your period yet? How many of you have experienced this? When should I do a HPT??
