My mom told me that a baby likes to be born during a storm. Is that true that a rain storm can throw you into labor?? And if that is true-why??? She said something about how women are more in touch with mother natures cycles and our periods go along with the moons. This is all weird to me and I was just curious because I am 38 weeks along tomarrow and it's going to thunder storm really bad for the next couple of days. Just wanted to know what I should expect. :-)

I babysit my 4 year old neice everyday 9 hours a day. She uses babytalk ALL THE TIME instead of her "big girl voice"..it really gets on my nerves and I tell her to use her big girl voice all the time but she won't. Is this a sign of some underlying issue???

I have just found out that I am going to be a grandmother. My daughter's last name is Gold. I am going for the name to be Silver Ann Gold for a girl, but would like more choices to give to her. It will be her decision on her childs name. She is due in April. Its too early right now to tell if boy or girl. Any suggestions I would really appreciate. From a soon to be a Nana. Thanks.

I have had both of my daughters naturally. My now 7 month old gave me real pain while in labor and delivary. I was thinking about an Epidural this time. My question is to those who have had them. I am really worried about it not taking. How many of you have been hooked to the IV epidural in your back where you can push the button every so often, and what do you think of them. My best friend had one of these with her last child and said it was wonderful. I would like to have one of these instead of the way they use to do them. You thoughts?

I just think the answers to this question are very intersting and thought I'd ask it another time...
I was just wondering why people have such an issue with girls 15+ having children? I have a lot of young mothers as friends and they don't live with their parents or live off the government. I also noticed that young pregnancies are a lot more common and accepted in the south-western states...any opinions on that? I was just very curious because really if it doesn’t affect you why do people care? Why do young mothers get looks as if they have done something incredibly wrong? Why are they taken pity on even if they did want the pregnancy? Why are they considered sluts? And last but not least...why are they automatically considered bad parents?

I started putting real undies on my daughter ( she is 2)
so that she would start feeling her pee pee get wet onher.
Well she hasnt peed in the last 2 hours...is she holding it????
Im worried shell forget how to pee and shes holding it.

sorry this is my first child and ive never potty trained before.
We have gone to the potty a few times, and ive shown
her how. I hope she isnt like full and holding it.

I know it's not proper "etiquette" BUT here's the details:
My first was born at 24 weeks so I never did have a baby shower at all! Secondly it was 11 years ago!

I am torn on this one as part of me feels that it's a "greedy" thing and another part of me feels I miised out! Actually I missed out on a lot of things ALTHOUGH my MIRACLE BABY was the most beautiful, precious gift anyone could ask for... :-)

My girlfriend has brought it up several times and I just can't come up with a comfortable response! She wants to throw one early (just in case since I'm in high risk).

(Please don't respond with nasty comments as I have seen before... I am simply asking for help and suggestions, and NO I am not on welfare or anything llike that. I'm just feeling that I missed out on something with my first)

my 2 oldest boys will be starting preschool, and i need to label ther clothing tags... i figured a permanent black sharpie would work, but besides their last name, is their anything else i should put? i am using the last name because they are in the same class and wear the same size- but the next thing is our last name is Ralph.... if there is a kid in the class with that name, well, you can see the delimma... should i try to squeeze in our phone #? tags are so small.... or do you guys think the last name would be sufficiant?

She has tolerated chicken, beef, and fish well, we havent tried pork yet. If I cut them up really tiny I would worry about choking, but has anyone heard of babys having allergic reactions to it? Cause my baby is allergic to eggs.

He's 5 months old and has started having screaming fits. Im not talking crying this is proper screaming, and can go on for hours. He cannot be consoled, if i pick him up he screams, if i put him down he screams more, he usually only stops when he wears himself out. I dont know if its for attention, if he's in pain maybe with wind - he does suffer with wind/colic, or if its tiredness. There doesnt seem to be a definite pattern to it.
I really dont know what to do. Any advice?
