2 is NOT too early to potty train. Whoever says that it LAZY! She is probably holding it. I went through this with my son. I put him in his big-boy underwear. He held it for several hours. But I made him stay in them until he wet himself. Then he had to stay in his wet pants for about 10 minutes. He HATED it so much that he's been potty trained ever since. He never has accidents. You just need to be patient. We also rewarded my son for going on the potty. I made a sticker chart for him. He got a new sticker every time he went. When he reached 5 times he got a little prize (a new coloring book) and when he reached 10- he got to go to the Disney Store and pick his prize! It worked like a charm!

Ditto everything "den2read" said. I started potty training my girl when she was exactly 2 and a half. When I knew that she was actually holding her pee I would tell her to sit on the potty about every 20-30 minutes and remind her in between that she needs to keep her panties dry like a big girl. It took her about 2 or 3 weeks and she's now fully trained except for the ocassional poop accidents because she's sometimes too lazy to do it on the potty. Also if you feel comfy let her watch you pee on the "big potty" and remind her that if she wants to be a big girl like Mommy she needs to pee pee on the potty and keep her panties dry :).

I have potty trained four. She is going great. Check her, say Oh you are dry! Good girl! and praise her. Then every once in a while get her to sit on the potty.

A key to potty training is excitement. I know this sounds silly, but every half hour or so, right in front of or near dd...go "OH! I have to go potty!" in the most excited voice. Then RUN RUN RUN to the potty and go. Let dd see everything. Be very excited when YOU pee in the potty. Then you can even hi five eachother. DH and I would do this all day long. So our kids would want to be a part of the excitement. It ALSO gets her thinking...oh, I do feel like I have to go..
GOod luck mom!

Two is still young for potty training so be patient. I'm assuming you went ahead with this because she showed signs of readyness. Two hours isn't too long so give her time. If she seems uncomfortable or in pain, or if she waits a long time and then just lets go in the undies, maybe it's too soon.

You are already one year on the late side...
My family starts potty training at about 8 months, and by 11 to 12 months they have all been clean.
Easier than having to re-train them from pissing and crapping in their diapers. Cheaper too.

It is possible she is holding it. The first time i put my son on real underwear he is 3 he would pee in the pot but he would do number two. because he was holding it waiting for me to put a diaper on him.

I don't think toddlers have the ability to hold it in, there muscles aren't strong enough, if you think its time for her to go than just put her on the toilet or ask her if you took her to the bathroom already she must have some kind of idea...hope this helps...Good Luck
