am with someone whose child is 13 and out of hand. He Recently moved in with us and will not behave. He lies, steals, fails school, hits my children, and has no respect for anyone. I have tried to talk to his dad about therapy and discipline and he just take the defense. I have tried to make him feel like on of the family but it is getting hard when i have no say so about what he does. I tell him he cant do something and his father says ok. I treat him like my own including I love you's but Im getting to the point I cant do it anymore and I do not want my kids thinking that his behavior is ok and following his foot steps. I feel Im being more unfair to my kids who get punished for doing bad things when the step son gets off scott free. I have to hide the fact my kids are going out with friends and relatives because the people who invite them cant handle the other. I dont tell him because I dont want to hurt his feelings but why should I not let my kids go because of him

I serve as secretary for an organization for SAHM. I was a SAHM during the time that I was elected to the position, but now I work part-time. I also head up monthly lunchs for moms and our kids and I am editor of the quarterly newsletter. I feel that my life is sort of evolving and becoming very, very hectic now that I am back at work. I want to finish my term as Secretary, but at the same time I am so busy with everything else in my life. I am thinking about resigning as Secretary of the chapter, b/c it has become a stressor in my life.

We have about 25 members and we have always had trouble getting members to be active outside of playgroup. There are people who show up to events, but never volunteer to do anything. It is a volunteer organization, but every year there are about 6-8 who hold the chapter up. It becomes draining after a while. I don't plan to renew my membership right away in 2007 b/c I need a break, but what should I do about my secretarial position for 2006?

What the hell makes her think "I am ready to do this?"
Do you have an education? NO? Then your not ready
Is there a good father in the picture? NO? Then your not ready
Is grandma going to be mostly supporting this child? YES? Then your not ready.

My 8 month old is so smart, he literally pushes away the bottle and
shakes his head no when I try to feed him formula during the day.
However, he will eat any kind of baby food I give him, so I know he is
hungray. My question is, at this age how much formula/fluids does he
need?

If my 16 month old son only watches Sprout (Kids PBS Channel) and its on most of the day (he plays most of the time but he watches it occasioanlly) will that negatively affect his development? Is TV really that bad for kids if its educational? What effects does watchng TV have on a child?

I grew up with 3 sisters and 2 brothers, so that's not quite a small family. I think single kids are sometimes too much pampered and don't learn to share. On the other hand parents can give more attention to each kid in a small family. What is your idea ?

I love children and I have two as well but this child is such a bad kid. He steals, lies, hits, is failing all of his classes, got caught taking pornos to school that he stole. {not from my house}, noone likes to have him come over. I have to sneak my son to do fun things with his friends and family because this boy ask why he cant go. I know I probably should tell him but I dont want to make it worse by saying no one likes you or can stand you. His dad doesnt appear to care either. He tells him he can do whatever and never actually punishes him for the stuff he does. I dont think this boy has ever been grounded. Hes 13 and I cant talk to his dad w/out him getting upset and I cant handle this anymore. Any realistic advise would be great. (also Me and dad are expecting a baby in 8 wks, my son is 8 and daughter is 3yrs)

I have heard every single lame excuse for not breastfeeding but there is only one that I truly believe. A good friend of mine told me that she didn't breastfeed because she didn't have a clue about breastfeeding and didn't know any better. See to me that's an honest answer because it's actually very true that there is very little support or information out there or support is not given unless they ask (unfortunately she is a single mom and can't afford internet). The other excuses, forget it. It's funny because when she told me this she looked at me ready to run in case I got on her case but I just looked at her and said "I'm not mad at you..that's the most honest answer I have ever heard"
