Hormones are out of control in teens. They often want to have sex so bad they overlook protection. They think only once will not matter. Those that really want babies, want acceptance. They want someone to love and love them. They come from difficult situations. Some have even been abused. They don't think about the future.

What gives you the right to judge how well teens can raise their children? I am not a pregnant teen and I am not having sex so I am not saying this because I could end up like that. How do you know that they won't continue their education? A girl in my school got pregnant and she graduated high school this year. That is three years after she had her child. How do you know there isn't a good father in the picture? There could be. Not every guy in the world will leave his girlfriend hanging when she is pregnant. Some guys might but not all of them. How do you know that the grandmother is going to be the one mostly supporting the child? It happens, I will admit. It doesn't happen all the time. There were about 6 people who got pregnant in my high school last year. Out of those 6 people, 4 of them have jobs and are still in school. So it isn't only grandma that supporting the child. Some older people don't have an education and still have children. All of those older people working minimun wage jobs can't support their children well financially, but they can give them all the love in the world. You don't need a father in the picture to take care of the children. I survived with only one parent, my dad. He has done a great job at raising me. Raising a child has nothing to do with age but it has to do with maturity level. I feel that a lot of the teens who get pregnant are better parents than a lot of the adults who get pregnant even though they may not be able to buy their children brand name clothing give them all the luxeries SOME adults can give their children. I am completely disgusted that you would answer those questions for all of those teens out there when you are just ONE person. You don't know what they can and cannot do. I hope this changes your mind because not all teens can't support their children just like not all adults can support their children. I really hope you change your ways of thinking because I think it is completely wrong. By the way, sorry this is so long. I just got really mad when I saw what you wrote up there and I had to express my feelings.

You really have some issues, don't you?
Not every girl chooses to get pregnant, and not ever girl knows what she is getting into. Top that with things like date rape drugs, and men who are willing to exploit young girls, and yeah, you have lots of unplanned, unprepared for pregnancies.
Not all girls get the support they need, or know that they can get support from thier parents if they choose not to have a child.
Most have only ever baby sat, and seem to think it's a not that hard. Others have parents willing to bail them out by doing all the work. Others have families who don't believe in abortion. Others don't have the money to get an abortion.
Who exactly made you queen of unwed mothers tonight? What exactly gives you leave to sit and speak judgement on ALL of them? You are condeming the lot of them, when you are judging your own experiance on a few.

alot of times it is the 'grandmothers" fault. i know several girls that got pregnant because there mother allowed them to roam the streets with boys at all hours of the nights. Parents if you let your 13 year old daughter play outside till 1 in the morning with a guy that is 22 years old, i promise they are not playing hide in seek!! And then the grandma says well i will take the baby. I think there is alot more to this question, it easier to understand when you can view it from both side of the fence. Do it hink it is okay for girls to get pregnant at 12, no, but it has alot to do with there parents not caring where they are at.

here's my idea: nothing gives a pregnant girl more rights than a young guy that got her pregnant SO, what if we tell our daughters that if they get pregnant the child will be raised by who ever the father is. our daughter could pay child support and see the kid on weekends and holidays?
i'm afraid a great deal of girls get pregnant on purpose now days. i have warned my boys about these traps- so far so good! BUT, what if girls had to face the hard reality that birthing a child didn't give them special rights and that THEY would not be able to be the exclusive care provider for the baby. MAYBE they would be careful.
i know accidents happen. and i agree both the boy & girl should be responsible for the child... but if my son ever gets a girl pregnant I WILL help him fight for full custody. if you have a daughter, warn her that there are mother's like me out there that have sons that WILL raise that baby!

I'm guessing your little sister is preggers or your teenage daughter is.....
If you're the pregnant teen's mom...
Tell her that you won't raise the baby... much as you love your daughter, she does need to recognize the challenges of dealing with her own choices...
Encourage her to place the baby for adoption. It will be hard for her, but it will be best- she'll have the time she needs to finish growing up, the baby will have a mom and dad, you won't be raising a baby and a teenager.
If you're the big sis... thankfully, it's not your job to do much of anything. Let her be, be supportive for your parents, they need it right now...

Most of the time when teenagers get pregnant it is accidental. People rarely take in the above considerations when they're engaging in sexual activity.

i know. i bet it's the fame who have children making it look "cool" yeah i know, peir prssuare and famous people doiong it. we need to grab them by the shoulders and shake real hard and tell them that they're being a nut, that they are messing up their lifes, and that thy will be on their own if they do have one. if that doesn't work lock them up in their rooms.
but in their eyes they're thinking, well everyone is doing this and it's my body, life, and choice. we need to show them what really happens

well its better for her to have it than abort it.
And the government can keep it up. They've got plenty of money to it. If they can pay $20,000,000 for airplanes that don't work, they can pay to support a child.
