How would you propose we fix those problems. BTW, you're not going to get rid of teacher's unions so take that off the list, it just won't happen. Try to be non-reactionary and be practical and thoughtful with your answer. With healthcare, there are less and less people covered today. And, insurance corporations are refusing care to many people who do pay into private health insurance accounts. How do we fix these problems? What would be your solution?

They stonewalled lobbying reforms that require lobbyists to disclose taxpayer-funded earmarks for which they’re lobbying Congress, repealed Republican reforms requiring earmarks in tax and authorizing to be publicly disclosed and subject to challenge on the House floor, and killed legislation requiring taxpayer-funded state and local government lobbyists from following the congressional gift ban as they lobby for pork.

They trumpeted passage of a lobbying reform bill largely indistinguishable from the one Republicans passed through the House last year – the bill Democratic leaders condemned at the time as a “sham.”

It can be anything:
Terrorism,
corporate domination of our political and media institutions,
One party system with 2 wings.
bankruptcy,
communism,
fascism,
etc. etc.

Be specific and back up your reasons. Please refrain from calling other parties names and slandering. Let's get beyond that negativity and really hash this out objectively. If you have sources, provide sites. That is always appreciated.

I hope they show honor . I really do . <<< Read that again Liberals . I really hope you show honor .

Of course I'm referring to the up-coming Iraq war report to be delivered by the Democratic supported General Petraeus . He is a man of honor and integrity . Already I'm quite disturbed to see some liberals setting the table for disbelief and disgrace . I hope that doesn't apply to you , but there are liberals already saying that GENERAL Petraeus will LIE . That my friends is hypocritical(dems already gave him respect and honor when he first started) and not just that , but it's also disgraceful and purely wrong on every level .

So , Will You , As A Liberal , Show Honor Or Disgrace When General Petraeus Delivers His Assessment ?

( This is such a monumentally important moment in our history . Therefore , I will forego my regular policy of not reporting anybody , and I will report anyone who does not answer this question)

*I do not support universal healthcare
*Pro choice, unless the fetus is in late stage of pregnancy
*I am for the war on terrorism, but see no point of being in Iraq right now. Take out troops for now, and should Iran start becoming trouble - that's the next target. Air strikes.
* I am against giving tax cuts to rich people. They don't deserve any special treatment.
*Very strong supporter of Israel, will give them money and weapons to defend themselves
*I would strive to bring us toward energy independence, so we wouldn't have to buy oil from people who use that money to kill us.
*Secure borders and NOT give amnesty to illegal immigrants
*I will reduce taxes
*I am pro-gun ownership, but I would make the permits a lot harder to get.
*I would change the education system. I would focus on making public schools more competitive.

I mean, I'm not saying "Love it or leave it". Of course they are free to stay or go, but if it is so much better "there", why are they still "here"?

This is the second part, if you will, to the question posted by Msafwat:

When Muslims the world over riot and march and burn flags and threaten terrorism - because of a few cartoons in a Danish paper - do you think they are being oversensitive? Are they over-using the term 'anti Islam'?

When Muslims the world over burn the British flag, and vow to kill innocent Britains - all because author Salman Rushdie gets knighted - do you think they are 'crying wolf' and over-reacting?

MSAFWAT suggests that Jews are too quick to alledge 'anti semitism' or 'anti zionism' or 'anti Jewish' feeling.

But is this absurd - given the aforementioned response of the Muslim community to cartoons and knighthoods...?

Please choose ONE of the following. Choose the one you agree with most, even if you don't agree 100%.

Read carefully because many options are worded similarly:

A.) The US *IS* a Christian nation and things are about as good/bad as ever (t)here.
B.) The US *IS* a Christian nation, and its society is deteriorating because we are slipping away from God.
C.) The US *IS* a Christian nation, but its society is going to hell because it is too Christian
D.) The US *IS* a Christian nation, and its society is deteriorating. Period.
E.) The US is *NOT* a Christian nation and things are about as good/bad as ever.
F.) The US is *NOT* a Christian nation, and its society is going to hell because we are slipping away from God.
G.) The US is *NOT* a Christian nation, and its society is going to hell because it is too Christian.
H.) The US is *NOT* a Christian nation and society is not deteriorating. Period.

Sure, you can say none of the above, but please indicate which answer you *would* choose.

It is beyond my level f comprehension to accept that people can believe that when Bush or some of his Cabinet or appointee's claim that things are so good in Iraq and in this country .

Anyone who agrees with the" things are going great" must be profiting from this mishandled economy and war .

Why is it anytime you post evidence of how badly things are going people just avoid answering or attack you by calling you a liberal terrorist supporter .

Truth is I fund several terrorist organizations through my taxes and I do not like it much . Like the Mossad or the Institutional revolutionary party which helped Pedro Carmona seize power for a short time . Maybe it was that Ferdinand Marcos received some of my money in the form of U.S. support .

I happen to disagree with much of our foreign policy and suggest that we have very little policy except trade agreements .

If the people you trade with are evil and tossed out and you lose money such is the nature of business . SUGAR

And out to get them?

Also, Democrats are the ones that will take away their rights. If "modern Democrats" get the Whitehouse in 2008, then expect the hippy politicians to work hard to take away citizens rights.

There were no hippies in congress 30 years ago. And 30 years ago, both Democrats and Republicans hated hippies. Now hippies are embraced by Democrats.

IF so, has your Candidate become one of those selected to run for President? And, has it happened more than once?
I've chosen the Candidate for the Oval Office without err since 1980 (for better or worse). This upcoming Presidential Election looks like it's going to be a "tougher choice" than most.
p.s. for some political quizes links go to my profile, or discussion groups email me. (hopefully, y'all will have some for me as well)

Ya know , those magical little things that show you everything that's happening in Iraq everyday , and therefore allows you to develop your own personal opinion minus media coverage ?

I didn't think so !!

Every one of you has developed their opinion about the Iraq war based upon media coverage . (except of course , those who fought there) . Good or bad , righteous or not , every one of you has and is being affected by the media . Therefore , I wonder how people can say that they 'know' what's going on in Iraq .
Two deep thoughts . Let's see how many of you can grasp them .
1. You only know what you know .

2. You don't know what you don't know .

Simple words , simple phrases , but difficult to grasp especially when people determine that their opinions are true or fact .
How many of you realize now that your opinions are based upon media coverage ?

(btw , I served in Panama during Noriega's regime . Nearly nothing in the MSM was true . Nearly nothing . Think about it . )
