I hope they show honor . I really do . <<< Read that again Liberals . I really hope you show honor .
Of course I'm referring to the up-coming Iraq war report to be delivered by the Democratic supported General Petraeus . He is a man of honor and integrity . Already I'm quite disturbed to see some liberals setting the table for disbelief and disgrace . I hope that doesn't apply to you , but there are liberals already saying that GENERAL Petraeus will LIE . That my friends is hypocritical(dems already gave him respect and honor when he first started) and not just that , but it's also disgraceful and purely wrong on every level .
So , Will You , As A Liberal , Show Honor Or Disgrace When General Petraeus Delivers His Assessment ?
( This is such a monumentally important moment in our history . Therefore , I will forego my regular policy of not reporting anybody , and I will report anyone who does not answer this question)

TG - I'm not the judge , society is . And society regards hypocrites as miscreants and anarchists . You either agree with honor or you don't and apparently you don't . Thanks for the info . Oh so helpful .

I don't think that the majority will. Note the closing of vote by Pelosi last week, just to ensure victory . . .
There is little honor left in our Congress, and less in the behavior displayed by the majority of Liberals in Congress or otherwise.
And BTW: "it's Bush's fault."

I can neither agree or disagree with something that hasn't happened yet.
Whenever this subject is brought up, the thing that stands out in my mind most, is a letter that was published in our newspaper a short time ago. It was a letter from a service man to his son. The son was born while the father was in Iraq fighting. He was killed before he ever got to meet his son.
The letter to his son said that the reasons we are there no longer matter. It doesn't matter if people think we went in there for the wrong reasons. He said that the only thing that matters at this point is to stay until the country can stand on it's own two feet and defend itself. He told his son that if we left before this task was accomplished, it would be worse than we could ever imagine. He also said that he was sorry that he never got to meet him because if the child received this letter, then he knew he would be dead. He said that he died fighting for what he believed was the right thing to do in these circumstances.
It was at that point that I realized that my point of view really doesn't matter. If these men and women are doing what they feel is right, and I know it would be so very bad to pull out leaving the country in the shape it is in, then we have to support them in every way we can.
Why not let those who are doing the fighting make the decission? I feel that they are the most informed as to what would be best now.

despite if the surge is "objectively" a reliable failure, any document by using Petraeus will come out a minimum of as a mix of reliable and undesirable. If not, generally reliable. bear in recommendations, Petraeus replaced into chosen to medical care the placement. Petraeus asked extra troops. Giving the final what he asked; if we nonetheless take domicile a failure, this makes the final look undesirable -- for his proposed answer did not artwork. And American lives are too effective to be wasted on protection rigidity strategies that don't artwork. Conservatives will hence trumpet the reported reliable and downplay the undesirable. In different words, your hypothetical will by no potential actualize except Petraeus does not act in a self-involved way. a risk, definite. yet very not likely.

I do respect Petreaus.. and I believe he'll be honest and that I can use that information to make an informed decision.. A favorable report doesn't change the fact that many of us feel we never should have been there.. it just means we are finally making some headway and maybe we can satisfy both sides sooner rather than later and get the hell out of there.
We want our troops home.. but the President has final say.. so we either need progress or a victory in the next election to get what we want. So we WANT good news.. we just don't expect it often anymore.

I'm not really sure what you are asking. But as far as General Petraeus goes, I have always considered him to be someone who is involved with the war, and has an opinion. I don't necessarily hold his opinion/assessments higher then anyone elses, but I do listen to what he has to say. I will do the same when he releases his assessment. I won't instantly support it %100, but I will consider it will all the other information I have.
Edit: I think per your last comment, dojoman is a candidate for being reported by you.

It's a lovely beginning to set yourself up as the arbiter of who deserves to be here sharing their opinion.
Talk about a loaded question. If we agree with you, we are showing honor, but if not, we are disgracing ourselves? Perhaps not everyone sees the world in your terms.
It''s been clear for some time that the American public was lied to to justify a war in Iraq that was fought for reasons that have never been made clear. The declarations of "victory" were at best premature. Now we are being told that American troops may be necessary for decades!
If General Petraeus feels we are making progress, I'll be happy for him, but it matters little. American's are dying in a civil war that we have no place in. There will always be administration spokesmen telling us there is light at the end of the tunnel, and we just need to hang on a little longer.
The American people have said enough. It is their right, and the government will be replaced by one that listens. That's how Democracy works. If you truly belive in what America stands for, you should be celebrating that fact, rather than trying to force your opinion on people like a fascist.

Petraeus was confirmed by the Senate unanimously, I believe. So I hope everyone will give his report the weight I believe it deserves.
I am willing to agree IN ADVANCE that I think it will be clear and authoritative. Sight unseen. So I will have to live with my words once it comes out. I'm willing to do that.
I think others should do the same, but I expect that those who have wanted us to leave for years now will not feel the need to treat the report as definitive. To each his or her own.

Those you are talking about have already made up their minds that Petraeus has failed even before he took off to Iraq.
Liberals have stake the whole 08 election on Iraq failure and it does go well it would seal their doom.
Please remember that 1/3 of the DNC believes Bush did 9/11.
So there will be denial and more screams of consipracies.
They are so desprate to win they will say anything or do anything to make it happen.
Please remeber they claim that something would happen in 02 election so Bush can declare Marshall law to void the mid term elections and the same for 04 & 06.
If they did have honor they wouldn't invested so much effort on our troops failing in Iraq.

The democrats have already made up their mind so they will not pay any attention to what he says, they could care less if we are winning since losing and having body bags come back here is what they want to use in their campaigns for office.

What will conservatives do if he says the surge has not produced the results he hoped it would? One should remember that Patreaus is an advocate of the surge so no matter how honorable the man is, HE WANTS it to work so his statements may be a little biased. Also, I thought Colin Powell was a man of honor too. The way he cow towed to Bushco showed that was not altogether true.
I will wait to hear what he has to say before I make a final judgement.
