IF so, has your Candidate become one of those selected to run for President? And, has it happened more than once?
I've chosen the Candidate for the Oval Office without err since 1980 (for better or worse). This upcoming Presidential Election looks like it's going to be a "tougher choice" than most.

Yes, I have not missed an election since 72. I start at my precinct caucus, then my county assembly, then higher assemblies, then state assembly, primary and general election. I want as much say as possible in who the candidates are going to be as well as who the final winner will be. I try to be informed and quite often my favorite candidates do not make the general election. I understand how our political system works in this country, so I usually vote a straight party ticket. In my mind a legislator can never overcome his first vote if he votes in the wrong caucus. Look at our congressional leadership today, Ugh

No offense but I am not impressed with anyone who has
"Chosen the candidate for the Oval Office without err since 1980." That sounds like a moderate to me. Moderates just want to be on the winning side all the time. I am proud to say that I voted for several conservative candidates that did not win the primary. I voted for conservative candidates that did not win the general election.

I am proud of the fact that every candidate I voted for was the right person, whether he/she won or not. I have never stuck my wet finger up to see which way the wind is blowing. That is the only way you could have consistently selected the winning candidate. Did I vote for Carter? No. Was I right? I think so. Did I think Dole would beat Clinton? No. Did I vote for Clinton? No.

The purpose of primaries and elections is not to pick the winner but to pick the best person, support him and hopefully that will make him the winner.

If you voted for Reagan twice, then Bush once, then Clinton twice, then Bush twice you obviously have no core values. These people could not be more different in their belief systems.

I specifically register as a Democrat to vote in the primaries. I am truly a green liberal looking for a candidate.

Absolutely, although this year I am crossing over to insure that Hillary wins the nomination, it's my only Republican hope!
