This one guy was holding up big signs of babies that were aborted and they were disgusting. But the part that really ticked me off was that he was comparing them to the genocide. He was saying that they are both the same. I told him that its not because the people that are dying in the genocide have familys and have already lived however many years they have lived how dare you compare that to the genocide.

If you don't have anything serious to say then don't even bother answering.

Pro choice all the way. But that doesn't mean I'm pro-abortion like people confuse it with. It means I'm for letting the woman make the decision for herself. But I would probably never get one myself unless I was at risk of dying. I do believe that the rate of abortion could go down dramatically if all pre-teens were taught the functions of their bodies and about birth control as well as all teenagers were taught about birthcontrol and what it meant to raise a child and the responsibility that comes with it. To change something, anything, in society you have to educate the people. To educate people is to demystify the body and deal with reality directly. Issues of abortion and birth control are no different.

Well, the baby / fetus / clump of cells DOES have a mother and a father, if that's not family what is. A fetus can't live for years so that's not a fair comparison. If you don't abort it, it can live for years and it will be a person.

Obviously, I am against abortion.

I agree, it is not genocide. Genocide is the targeting of a specific type of person or race to exterminate. Abortion is wrong but not genocide.

my answer would change in certain situations. so pro-choice. i mean if the mom just doesn't want the baby and wants to get rid of it, that's something i can not agree with. but in certain situations i understand. but i strongly think that they should look at all of their options before choosing abortion cause that is a huge risk to take.

Abortions should be rare exceptions, and last resorts.

It is extremely rare that it actually endangers the mother's health, and that is the only case that I can see where I could advocate it. After the first couple of months, to me it is a child.

I don't buy the viability argument. It is definitley a human being before it is able to survive outside the womb. And no child can survive on it's own to begin with.

I'm against abortion AND pro-choice

I think abortion is a tragedy but am not qualified to make the decision for anyone else (especially since I am a man!).

I'm in favor of easily available birth control and early sex education.

Pro choice is pro-abortion. What the hell do you think the argument is about anyway! Killing a baby, is killing a baby, you chose to spread your legs, you chose to have sex, you chose to not use birth control. Now for you bleeding hearts that want to include rape, and incest, we have the morning after pill or a D&C., to chose from. You have all kinds of choices, now let's give the baby a choice!

Don't you like to hear the patter of little feet, and a little baby smiling and happy to be alive?

Save the children folks, they're what keep us going!

Your question implies that abortion is a "all or nothing" situation, which clearly would be irrational. (your question.. not you). Life does not work like that. Of course it is totally possible to be "pro choice" AND anti "partial birth" abortion. Explanation.. the legality of abortion has been ruled on by the Supreme court. This means that the Constitution protects the right of a woman to determine HER definition. You have the anti abortion persons who define abortion as murder, but that is a personal view and NOT the legal definition. Do I support or promote abortion? No. I support the law and the authority of the Supreme court. I don't impose my view on others. The partial birth hysteria comes down to an attempted distortion against Obama. If you do your homework.. the state of Illinois already had laws concerning this situation, when someone attempted to pass new legislation that would have been in conflict with the original law, and led to disputes over the intent. Thinking from a legislative view.. it is pure stupidity to have 2 laws on the same topic, when those laws would lead to court disputes. THAT IS WHY HE VOTED AGAINST the second proposed law. NOT because he promotes "partial birth abortion" or letting babies die. NO doctor would allow such a thing to happen. A child born alive would get treatment. Please be careful of internet sites who give false information, and attempt to manipulate your thinking.
