I really need to understand what this hatred over George Bush is about? I don't care for the way he is handling things (and most Americans don't as well) but why the hatred?

please spare me with "You would never understand" or "Read more" or "grow some brains"

I want REAL answers. thanks.

According to most of the Liberals' logic: If you support Democrat, you should be taxed at least 50% of what you earned. You fought in Bosnia or Somalia and ready to enlist UN peace Missions. Right?

Cindy Sheehan has said that she will run as an independent against Nancy Pelosi in 2008 if she doesn't introduce articles of impeachment against Bush. As many of you here know, I am certainly no Bush supporter. However, I think that it would be unrealistic to expect him to be impeached and convicted. After all, the majority of the House of Representatives would have to vote to impeach Bush. After that, at least 2/3 of the Senate would have to be present for Bush's trial. Of the Senators who are present, 2/3 would then have to vote to convict Bush. Considering the fact that the Democrats hold the majority in both houses of Congress by a very slim margin, how realistic do you think it would be to expect Bush to actually be convicted?

As an American who likes a good laugh, I feel I must ask this question.

Why do Brits hold on to old Monty Python and BBC Sunday night pseudo-comedies? Most Brits can quote old episodes verbatim, but it gets really old hearing them spew "are we having spam?" again and again and again.

If you don't pay property tax the government takes your land. So who really owns the property? Sounds like Feudalism or Communism to me.

Because I remember some people saying the ban was unnecessary, the science of ozone depletion by CFCs was not proven, the ban would cause a strain on sections of the economy, etc, etc.

Has the ozone recovered?

I asked some questions on global warming recently. It's not good enough that I'm buying bamboo floors, or that I don't drive an SUV, or that I use fluorescent lightbulbs, or that I regulate the temperature in my home, or that I recycle. WHY? Because I still drive a vechicle, I still use my AC, I'm not a vegan and don't grow my own veggies.
Why do you feel I'm not doing ANYTHING just because I'm not doing EVERYTHING?? It doesn't make sense. This is the BIGGEST reason I'm not part of the democratic party, you ignore progress unless you're getting exactly what you want, no compromises. You completely ignore the fact that we've been doing a whole lot to clean up our act since the 70's, YES that's THIRTY years. Bet your college professors never bothered to tell you that, did they? Why can't it be good enough that a reasonable person is taking reasonable measures to cut down on waste and prevent it in the future? It's like you're going out of your way to make people dislike you...

In any sort of election, have you ever found yourself voting for one candidate, just because you think the other person isn't nearly up to par, but you don't really have faith in either candidates?

How often have you found yourself doing that? How often do you think that happens in today's society? Do you think a third party could help alleviate that?

as an Englishman who is currently working in the the USA, i feel i must ask this.
The other day whilst getting drunk in my hotel i asked room service to "bring me some lager NOW" to which they rudely replied "You have already had 3 drinks, it is our policy not to serve you any more"
At this point i walked down to the lobby and punched the hotel manager, who very kindly changed his mind and offered me free drinks for life.

I wonder if the younger generation knows that we've been imposing stricter regulations on industry since the 70's . Yes , 70's my younger friends . The manufacturing industry has spent Billions in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas . Many of you never saw or experienced just how much carbon emissions there was prior to then .
So , I'm going to be LIBERAL for a little bit and demand CHANGE . This 'surge' in tighter restrictions has gone on long enough . We've given this effort 30 years to show results and what do we have to show for it ? Well , according to the scientists that my liberal friends always like to quote , it's much worse today than 30 years ago . And in my temporary status as a progressive liberal , I not only want change , I demand change . We need to bring or green movement 'troops' home . Back to their families . The rest of the world hates us for leading the way for the past 30 years , and all we're doing is creating more hatred .

Out of space.. . . . continued

I must have missed that part

For the last half century, Canada and the European nations nationalized their medical industries and ever since have been struggling to live up to their promise of “health insurance and quality health care” for all. Huge waiting lists for care and visitations with specialists, a lack of sophisticated medical equipment, rising costs (which must be met by rising taxes), and a general increase in dissatisfaction with government-run health care are typical in all countries where the government, literally, calls the shots

I'm sure that if the Founding Fathers had intended to place "free healthcare" in the Constitution, they certainly would have done so

It is the responsibility of each and every American to provide for his own medical needs, by contracting for such services on the free and open market. The only effective role Congress or the President can play in any debate about health care is to admit that socialist medicine has always been a failure
