The real question is, why are you drinking water which uses a petroleum product as packaging. You may think it is funny and extremist, but we all should think a little more clearly about the products we use and the type of packaging in which the products are distributed. That bottle from your water will be sitting in a landfill 1,000 years from now.

We do not need more legislation to regulate packaging but we do need to be responsible citizens. As a conservative, you should know that responsible consumer choice is what drives the market toward responsible action. The only difference between a conservative and a liberal is that the liberal believes that only the government can drive the market toward responsible choices. Being a conservative does not mean be PRO POLLUTION!

The real question is, why aren't you paying the true cost of disposal of that bottle when you purchase the water? This is the distortion in the marketplace which allows plastics to flourish while other less hazardous products are not used.

Actually they already are working on it. Yahoo has a video right now of a news story about how some cities are working on banning bottled water.

Strangely enough When I switched over to that earth first concert thing, every single performer had a pile of water bottles and so did a vast majority of the audience. Funny they wat to save the earth but here they are contaminating the planet with thousands of water bottles.

Gaia would be proud.

relax, do you think that the bottled water companies are going to let them get away with it? They will come up with something I am sure to get around this.

furthermore this is a great chance for Americans to save money. buy a water bottle (sports stores) boil your own tap water, pop it in the fridge and when cold pour in your bottle and drink. water is clean and cold.

you save $$$ from money spent on bottle water.

but then again, I can understand your frustrations, we NEED water. all living things.

Just send a check or money order to Mr. Albert Gore for however many "carbon credits" you need to cover that bottle of water, and you'll be just fine.

What makes you think they will? Ideally, they would like to see that you don't have to buy bottled water. The people that create dirty environmental conditions would like to sell you bottled air as well.

Probably after the men in black come after me for political dissent.

You know - there are real freedoms being taken away from real Americans right this very minute by way of the Patriot Act, and all you poor pitiful selfish polluters can do is feed your narcissism.

Pollution is real. You're a part of it.

I think the lifestyle police may get to it before the Environmental (emphasis on MENTAL) Nazis.

It really depends on how much you are enjoying it. If you enjoy it too much, they are bound to find something wrong with it.
