why dont Americans spell proper?

as an englishman i got to ask this qestion
why dont Americons spell proper like wot we does this cuntry, most of em dont even go to skool and most of em carnt spell things proper like wot we does.Haha i bet them aint even got books to read, cuz they are really stewpid

OK Mr. Pomp and Circumstance , let's get this party started . First things first . You asked "why dont Americans spell proper".. . .why should be Why , dont should be don't , and proper should be properly . Now isn't that funny that an American knows how to use the English language better than an 'English'man ???
Secondly , most posts like the ones you're referring to are done by kids and younger adults . It's called 'computerese' and it sucks . But not any more than a 'pomp and circumstance' Englishman who has nothing better to do than bash his own country's greatest ally .
One thing you and us have in common is we both owe our freedom and very existence to Americans !!!

Who is stupid. You by the sound of it. I am not American so am not getting on a high horse.Americans spell a lot of words differently to the UK. Their spelling is perfectly correct to them in American English although some of the spellings make us UK people shudder. English as a language is one derived from many other languages. There are traces of Greek,Latin,German,French and so on in the make up of English. Also remember the type of English spoken by the original settlers in the 16th and 17 th centuries would be completely different to the English spoken today. The changes in the language over the last 300 years has not been the same in the UK as in America so there are now quite considerable differences in some areas.. It does not matter though. We understand one and other and the last thing we want to do is to argue or squabble over spelling or word meanings. We are both right and nobody is wrong.

Cause everyone is using "shorthand spelling" these days when typing or texting. I noticed that too, and it kind of pisses me off also.
On another note.....looks like you have alot to say about us Americans. I'm just curious as to what part of the country you've stayed that gives you such a negative view of us.?!

Apparently stereotyping other people is your thrill in life. Get over yourself. I'm American, and educated, with a great job. I can spell just fine to the rules of our "AMERICAN ENGLISH." If you don't like it--maybe you should take your supposed corporate business elsewhere.

No my friend, you is wrong.

In 1891 the English and Americans agreed that although they spoke a similar tongue (English) that to differentiated between the two languages that they would have their own spellings and meaning to words.

Like through & thro, though & tho, fa g = cigarette & fa g = iffeminate man, boot & bonnet = rear and front of car, trunk and hood = rear and front of car. These are just a few examples.

So the Americans do know how to spell properly.
