As an Englishman who has just returned from a business trip to the USA i feel must ask this question.
Most Americans who i have met seem to be covered in what one could only describe as spots or dare i say it boils.
Is this due to the diet and lack of salad?

Yesterday, in the UK, the Liberal Democrats released details of their new tax plan. They would decrease income tax, and introduce new 'green' taxes on fuel and flights.

These new taxes would pay for the reduction in income tax, but surely this would require people to keep poluting and paying the taxes. If people stopped using their cars, and flying then there would be no money in the pot, and our income tax would go back up!

So the Liberal Democrats have given us a decision to make. Do we want a country paid for by pollution? I say no!

Are the great family loving and christian Republicans being revealed to be what they really are?
Would you be really mean if you said maybe, just maybe that the right wing of the Republican Party was made up of chicken hawks, Vice President Cheney, 5 college deferments to avoid going to war in Viet Nam and George W Bush, 3 months in the Air National Guard in Texas guarding the air over Texas and another 3 months in the jungles of Alabama. Would it be mean to say they might, just might be hypocrits?

According to U.S. intelligence agencies, they're alive, well and figuring out ways how to get into our country.

Meanwhile, our borders are wide open, thousands of undetected illegal immigrants are still arriving daily.

Is this not complete insanity? How tough will it be for them to "sneak" in?

Many corporations--the very thing that environmentalists and those with socialist and communist agendas hate--are making big dollars by "going green." Heck, Dell Computers will even plant a tree for you to offset the carbon used in making your computer!

My point is, people have bought into this craze and companies are cashing in and making even more money. I think it's ironic, because the folks who are against big business are not against them because of pollution (that's just a smokescreen) but because big businesses make big dollars in a free market.

I believe that the effect of this Republican Administration led by George W Bush and Dick Cheney put the countries defenses in jeopardy. Does the support of old war horses like Senators John McCain and John Warner make the administration's stance and strategy of 'banging your head against a brick wall' seem like a good strategy.

Only really work in America?

Don't all countries that have tried it - end up rejecting it and going for sublte forms of socialism?

Russia, Britain (after a lot of right wing stuff in the eighties) and Cuba too name a few.

Why does it only work for americans? Is it because of a exceedingly high output of christian message and morality tales, that allows (or encourages) americans to ignore and moralise at all the deprivation..and 60 million poor people?

I am so sick and tired of being labeled a troop hater when that couldn't be farther from the truth. It's such an awful generalization that is just a blatant lie. I've supported how I can. I've sent care packages on several occasions. Just because I want the troops to get to be at home safe with their spouses and children and parents and siblings, doesn't mean I hate them. The exact opposite is true.
