I've been of voting age since 1987. Living in the Peoples Republic of Daley (i.e. Chicago, Illinois), I don't get very many candidates to vote for with a chance of winning.

I've elected 2 Senators, 2 Congressmen and 1 President.

From most to least proud, the five people I have elected are as follows:

1. Peter Fitzgerald (R - Senator). He appointed Patrick Fitzgerald who the country knows convicted Scooter Libby but we here know successfully convicted George Ryan!

2. Michael Fitzgerald (R - Congressman) - He defeated the soon to be convicted Dan Rostenkowski who was convicted of several crimes related to graft in Congress. Clinton pardoned him.

3. Paul Simon (D Senator) - While I turned conservative in the early 1990s, he is still someone I consider trustworthy even though I don't agree with him on most issues.

4. George W Bush - OK with my 2000 vote, disgusted at the 2004 vote.

5. Dan Rostenkowski - Convicted felon. See #2 for details.

What are your choices?

They should NOT be able to obtain a driver's license with no picture on it because of their hijab. It would be IMPOSSIBLE to catch criminals if everyone wore this in public. What do you think?

LONDON (AFP) - A female Muslim juror has been arrested in Britain after allegedly listening to an MP3 player under her hijab headscarf during a murder trial, police said Monday.

The woman in her early 20s was spotted by a fellow juror listening to music as she was meant to be helping try the case of a pensioner accused of bludgeoning his wife to death after 50 years of marriage.

She could now be charged with contempt of court and, if convicted, may be punished with an indefinite jail sentence and an unlimited fine.

HH: I’m joined now by satellite phone from Baghdad by intrepid reporter Michael Yon. He’s actually in Baquba. Michael, welcome back to the Hugh Hewitt Show, always a pleasure to speak with you. How goes the fighting on the ground?

MY: Well, it’s really slowed down here in Baquba, Hugh. I was just in the TOC or the headquarters about fifteen minutes ago before I came on the show, and they were like the Maytag repairmen here. I mean, Baquba has just…you know, it was a very serious fight when it started, Operation Arrowhead Ripper on the 19th of June, I came in with them, but it quickly abated. The people have just turned against al Qaeda here. And so Baquba is really, the big fight now is to get the food distribution working again, which it already is. You know, they’ve got that going. And now, they’re working on fuel, because the fuel relates to electricity and water pumping. So really, they’re working on more civic things now.

It seems to me that Democrats are now moving towards a very Socialist agenda. Why would they do this when it has failed everywhere in the world and why are so many so-called Americans embracing it?

We know that the last election showed the how american voters were disgruntled about Iraq. Facts suggests that even more people are disgruntled now about Iraq..including some republicans. So the question is....how big of a landslide will the democrats get in this next election due to the GOPer's still tying themselves at the hip with the increasingly unpopular and isolated Bush?

I'm no brain surgeon, but whenever I watch this show, it frightens me that people can be THAT stupid.

Then I watch one of Bush's press conferences and I get REALLY scared.

I'd be willing to pay $1000 (and I'm just a poor civil service worker) to see Georgie match wits with a pack of grade school kids.

Feminism has pretty much neutered men in the USA. Men are so repressed about their sexuality.
If you go to Europe, Asia, South America, men wear speedos. The American culture considers a man showing his manhood as offensive as other cultures consider a woman not wearing a veil.
If you go to beaches and pools in most Arab countries, you’ll see the men playing the water in speedos while the women are in the water all covered from head to their ankles. Sometimes, the women simply dip their feet in the water. Americans love to criticize things like these, but Americans aren’t that much different.
In the USA, women are encouraged to wear bikinis, show their body, and be happy with their femininity. Yet, men have to wear big long surfer trunks, the longer the better, they should cover theirs knees. This season, swim shirts came around. So now, you see men with long short and swim shirts in beaches, pools while women don’t wear much.

Why do Americans see manhood as something offensive?

If Congress gets it's way and US troops are out of Iraq by April I'd say it's probably a 50/50 chance.

And then I'd say there a 50/50 chance that new President Cheney pulls a coup & trys to take over the US Govt. but then has a heart attack & dies in all the excitement & then Pelosi becomes the 1st female President of the USA which will turn out be worse than having Bush as President but then Hilary shoots/kills Pelosi out of anger over Pelosi becoming the 1st women President over her.

Don't you love US politicans/politics?
