mckenziecalhoun, that would be the news. I listen to news. I have a wonderful group of friends. We are a very friendly state. But, I remember meeting family once from NY at an HEB (grocer) and he said we were too flipping friendly and he couldn't wait to go home. I like Texas. I like America. It's big and beautiful. I'm so sorry you don't understand that philosophy. Be happy.

Mother Nature is loving San Antonio right now and actually Texas, too. We have needed the spring and summer rains for years now, and for the first time in 20 years we have filled our aquifer to over the needed amount. We are abundant. Thank God. Our northern Texas cities are a bit rained out, but they will wish back for the rain when it stops, because when it does, we will be in drought conditions again and won't be able to water or be fined.

We have had a lot of people moving to Texas and wanting to get property and move here. I guess it's like America in general. Many people from other countries don't like us, but they want to be here. I have met some pretty obnoxious folks from other states as well as in my own state. That's no reason to hate. You can put anyone under the microscope and find faults. This is a beautiful place. I just wonder now if they ever met Bush. He's a nice enough guy, just well, not one of our best presidents, but we picked him and we will pick our next president. Sure hope under the current circumstances they do well. Peace Out.

LOL .. nah .. we can Blame GWB for many things ... BUT not that ...

There have always been Texan jokes ..
one really old one ( probably goes back to the days GWB was sniffing coke) goes like this.......

A Texan Arrives at Sydney's International airport and is picked up by his Aussie cousin, as they drive through the streets of Sydney the Texan fires up .. and starts commenting on what he sees.. First he sees the Sydney Opera House ..

" So Bruce, That There is a Fine Building, How Long did that take to build"

Bruce Says "AWwwwwwwwwwww Mate It took about ten years, lots of work, lots of men"

"ten years, hmmm well In Texas That would have taken Ten weeks to build"

they Drive a little futher and The Texan takes in the Sydney Harbour Bridge...
"Hey Bruce, that there is a mighty handsome Bridge. How long did That take to build"

Bruce replies again " Awwwwwww mate, I'm not too sure, I think it was around six years"

"Six Years?", the Texan Mumbles "Six years, goodness in texas we could knock that little beauty up in six days"

Bruce grunts...
ANyway sorry to lead you up the garden path ,... I've forgotten the exact punch line( was something about " HELL MATE NO IDEA IT WASN'T THERE WHEN I LEFT TO PICK YOU UP) .. the thing is there is an opinion of texans .. that no matter what you do or what you have achieved ... a texan will come out and say BUT OH IN TEXAS WE DO IT BETTER BIGGER OR FASTER .. which .. annoys the bloody hell out of everybody else....

having said that ... I have only come across one obnoxious texan on line .. and as it turned out he wasn't born a texan ( but hell he gives you people a bad name) ...

just be nice to people and make them change their opinion :)

I have seen it done by libs and it does seem to be the case. I think some hate anything Bush touches. Such is probably the case of the person above me. If that logic were true, then I guess if I wanted to be prejudiced I would say the cold must do something to the people up north. Baloney. That goes for the person below also.

I own a house in Texas. If people have decided that they do not like Texas because of the President it is OK by me.

We need a good filter to keep the trash out. A self imposed one is the best

Are you asking if some people dislike Texas because they are so-called 'liberals' who prejudge an entire State based on one person they don't like? Surely not because that kind of behavior would not be 'tolerant', and they would NEVER have prejudice against the whole State of Texas, would they? ;-)

Yep, He gives Texas a bad name

I think that's part of it.
another part is that their are a lot of stereotypes about the people & the state

i use to live in Brownsville, TX and it was nothing like what people would think TX is like

oh & because of people who have attitudes like R.B. & Maxx P.

I've been to Texas before. It's not so much Bush being from there as it is I just didn't like it. It was too... open for me. Too much elbow room.
