Do we just leave and don't care if what happens to them?

I don't see how anyone can be a humanitarian if they don't care about anyone else.

Who cared what was happening to them for all of the time before the "war on terror"? How many American troops were in the middle east whatsoever before then? If you can provide ONE solid reason as to why nothing has been done about this before, and ONE solid reason why someone should be allowed to go in and force an entire country to just up and change, well I don't need to finish that statement.. Because I already know you cannot.

As far as your question goes. I don't know what other people want to do, but I'm damn sick and tired of my tax dollars being spent on NOTHING. Al Qaeda is still intact, and has even grown in power. What exactly has been accomplished if the so-called terrorists are still gearing up to attack us?

Well staying didn't do much for the last 4 years. But, Oh yea, it killed 3600 soldiers. Let's stay longer and watch that number go up higher.

If things didn't improve last 4 years why should it improve all the sudden within next 3, 5 months? Plus, Hayden, CIA top dude said Iraq gov is now in irreversible slump. This is Bush appointee. Someone who support Bush's ideas. But he gave very bad overview of Iraq situation recently. This should tell you how bad things are in Iraq. If Bush appointee comes out and say Iraq is in 'irreversible' mess.

I do think it is very difficult decision. Either to stay or to leave. They both are very tough tough decisions. But at the end we have put priority on American lives.

And don' worry about Iraqi citizens I think we've killed plenty of them even before the war with our sanctions/bombing strikes in 90s.

Well the Iraqis do not care our they would have met more of the benchmarks set for them. They only met 8 out of the 18 benchmarks, which is a miserable failure to say the least. My opposition to this conflict is not rooted in the body count or some appeasement mentality, but the realization that the Iraqis could care less about the sacrifices the United States has made and continues to do so for them. If we were helping a grateful people defend themselves from an external threat, I would support the mission. We are not doing this as most of the violence is sectarian in nature and not from an external threat.

No, people with COMMON SENSE want to get our troops out of Iraq ASAP. Timetable is a stupid thing; you don't just let your enemies know when you plan to do anything in a war. It's about time that the Iraqi government got their act together and took over. Saddam Hussein is gone and good riddance.

Iraq is in the midst of a civil war over "My God, though slightly different, is better than your God" and our soldiers, who don't even have body armor, are stuck in the middle.

That's the best way to do it, no announcement JUST LEAVE.

properly, some human beings have diverse agendas that don't contain the wellbeing of the rustic. it is the situation, meaningless partisanship that has eaten up our good judgment. You too, why do no longer you desire to hearken to the different area of techniques? in spite of how solid or undesirable the conflict is going, conflict does not create peace, it creates animosity. 2nd, we've weapons to handle possibly a million/3 of the international what are we apprehensive of? One little Iran, whether they're psychotic enthusiasts that desire to kill us, they somewhat also have a protection tension, how are they going to make a dent interior usa? Ridiculous. capability expenses are laid low with many different issues like economic inflation, grant, call for and climate transformations. on the subject of the international locations of the international, i do no longer provide a damn approximately our status or "international capability" status. this era is rather diffused in conquest and impression. weapons are not the way anymore, this is money, economics and sanctions, those are the way you injury worldwide places presently. ultimately, the international ravaged itself because of the fact they have been lots stupid back then than now, no longer because of the fact we confirmed up. the international will ravage itself with or devoid human beings, rather while economics are at stake. think of, my chum, think of.

Yeah I know what you mean, and heck a Conservative like me would like to see the Troops leave Iraq too but I don't wanna just cut and run.

I also don't want to be out under the terms of the Terrorists, I wanna leave on our own terms, I want to win the War and then get out.

I want us to get it when I know we are not going to have to go back in again.

Care about the IRAQI people???

Invading a country with lies and fabrications as pretext.
Were it not for the invasion...the IRAQI PEOPLE would not be suffering to the extent they are now.
In fact...they were better off under Saddams REGIME than this so called LIBERATION.
LIBERATION FROM WHAT?
Their earthly bonds?

Redeploy U.S troops outside of BAGDAD.
Tell the so called IRAQI government that rather than cutting off funds for the troops we will cut off the FUNDS FOR THEM.

How long does it take to get these people trained?
Seems everybody in that part of world pretty handy with guns.
So whats the damned holdup?
Let them have their CIVIL WAR.
IF that is what they want.

We did go there uninvited. We did dismantle their military forces. I do feel that the US has made this unholy mess, and now I feel it's only right that we stay and try to clean up what we did. The US reputation is at an all-time low, because of what our government has done, but it will be even worse if we just make a mess and then just leave.

it should not be a question of Liberal or Conservative...it would be better to look at Iraq and wonder what it is that we are doing good there, what are the benefits for the average American, what is the cost....ask why at least...think for yourself, use your heart and mind... and don't listen to talk shows
