She can and likely will be held in Contempt of Congress. However, the penalty will probably not be severe enough to warrant jail time. I wouldn't mine though because she seems to be a bit of an idiot...

Because, just how can the Democrats say Harriet Myers could not have been subpoenaed if she still worked in the White House.
Because then it would be asking privileged information.
But now shes not working in the White House, they think they can subpoena her and ask about those same privileged conversations ?
That doesn't make much sense.
Should Bush, just then rehire Harriet Myers to kill the subpoena ?
The Democrats are on shaky legal ground even trying to subpoena her and the courts will rule for Bush if it goes that far.

No - personally I think all members of Congress should be waterboarded in retaliation for their ridiculous subpoenas.....what aspirin factory were we bombing while they were questioning MLB players about something that has nothing to do with the powers of government, and boring as heck besides? They work for me, not the other way around, and they would do well to remember it. Karl Rove is safe and sound in Texas - he put up with more torture from an unscrupulous media and (gag) Valerie Plame loving lynch mob than anyone should have to endure....and, wow, no beans to spill yet, hmmmm..... ya gotta love that Constitution. Go Karl!!!

It was either that or Dick Cheney shooting Miers in her face with shot gun for testifying. I would probably listen to my boss if my boss go around shooting people in their face with shotgun.
But who cares. Right? She can just get that commutation or whatever like Libby did.
I probably would ignore laws too if my boss have that power to commute my jail sentence or pardon me. It is just so convenient.
Bush commute Libby's sentence, tells Miers to ignore laws. Make sense too me. I guess.

I don't know... but I don't like the example this is setting...
even if you don't think Bush is a bad guy... the next guy that comes in may be... and what if he ignores subpoenas and says "But Bush did it"?
bad news for checks and balances...

I think it's great!! The liberals/democrats have tried for the past 7 years to bring the Bush Adm. down and they still come out on top! What was good for Clinton should be good for Bush!

If you are on Bush's side you can ignore any subpeonas and so can all of his cronies. Is that not blatantly obvious. Jeez!

No, I don't think so. I remember something about the Schiavo case where someone didn't appear and nothing happened.
