there is no question, If dems had their way, we would have a socialist government in a heartbeat. Its their Ideology, they don't want some change for the good of everyone, they want radical change that will make us more like all the other countries whose governments don't work.
In response to fragernity, A nice communist world would be great if man were not utterly depraved. It'd be great if we could just each scratch each others backs. But in a sinful world, you can't rely on society at large or your representative government to take care of everybody. Conservative Christians understand that you must work hard to provide for yourself and your family, its called responsibility. We need to make sure government does what it was established to do, not change it into a welfare program where we all loose because there is no incentive to become more productive. Your quite confused if you think Joe Republican is out for big oil, we just fight the regulation that make it pointless to produce wealth.

America has always had socialist aspects, we are by no means a purely capitalist system. Western Europe has even more socialist aspects than we do. Have you ever been to Europe? It is actually not a bad place although I do find it disheartening that for the most part citizens are not allowed to carry firearms. We have Social Security, one person one vote etc, these are socialist ideas. I think it is rather funny how certain people associate socialism with communism and/or evil.

They are moving toward socialism for sure. That may not be their agenda per se though. Their agenda is votes. And where are the richest vote centers? The big cities. Ever see those red and blue state maps in an election? The liberals own all the heavily populated states. The cowtow to them.
The cost to this country for thinking in a partisan way, instead of for what's good the USA, will be enormous. The liberal way incentivises those who do nothing, and penalizes those who work and strive to succeed by making them pay for the losers.
They want everyone to have healthcare, everyone to have a house, and so on. Don't MAKE them work. Just give them stuff for doing nothing. Well, who's going to pay for it? The working sap, that's who.
The liberals, the tree-huggers, the pro-lifers (I'm not 100% conservative) and the like are ruining this country.
And what kills me, is they blame Bush for everything. The liberals own Congress now, and Congress has a LOWER approval rating than Bush. Now that's funny!!!! But, you'll never hear that reported by our liberal media.

The whole Democrats moving towards socialism argument is essentially a Republican bumper sticker that appeals to a lot of ignoramuses who are too simple to think about the issues in any reasonable, thoughtful manner. Basically, whenever Democrats propose any sort of bill or measure meant to help people, a lot of dim Republicans object by condemning these policies as "socialist." Only a fool would believe that universal healthcare is socialist. Unfortunately, there seems to be no shortage of idiots running around this country.

They dangle a carrot that is attractive yet when bitten into taste quite bitter. I'm a healthcare worker and if you think HMO's are bad just wait till they attempt to socialize medicine. Government will get so big only a depression will result.
It's more about getting everyone on the same page for a "New World Order" Code for ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT. Both Dems and Republicans are to blame for this ultimate agenda.
The only way it would work if there was a one world government and one large ant colony to follow it. This is the only reason Communism failed!

Ahh, the old Red Scare, haven't seen it rear it's ugly head in a while. Because Democrats want to push for universal health care, they must be commie Socialists right? I mean its not like we don't have any social betterment programs set in place already (police, fire dept., public schooling, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, etc) right?

That took a lot of reasoning and arguing, with tons of facts and sources to back you up... Plus reasoning, tying it all up together... I don't know if I can respond... Let's see...
It seems to me that Republicans are moving towards a fascist agenda. Why would they do this when it has failed everywhere in the world and why are so many so-called Americans embracing it?

I don't see were they feel this way. Is this more of the Republicans bashing Democrats for being human. Socialism
general term for the political and economic theory that advocates a system of collective or government ownership and management of the means of production and distribution of goods. It seems most of our government, companies and news are owned by the Republicans.

My opinion, for what it's worth.
They are not "moving" toward socialism - they're "sprinting" toward socialism. It seems that every day or so, there's another proposal for more government intervention as a solution to the concerns presently facing our nation.
I believe it is because, on paper, it seems like such a humanitarian and viable agenda - but, as you pointed out, it just crashes and burns when applied to real situations.

What is a socialist agenda? No, they are supported by corporations just like the GOP. Do you really think corporations would support socialism.
