The Iraqi government is achieving only spotty military and political progress, the Bush administration conceded Thursday in an assessment that war critics quickly seized on as confirmation of their dire warnings. Within hours, the House voted to withdraw U.S. troops by spring.

Does anyone else think the same?

There are so many questions on here that are just pathetic, none of which have any political substance. They're all like:

Why have Republicans got fat a**es?
Why do Liberals eat turds?
Why are all Republicans closet gay?

Is this the sort of thing elections are won and lost on?

Before anyone says, "I don't see you making and better suggestions," consider this - shut up!

Can some conservative hacks out there please tell me why our president continues this lie? I mean, it's been disproven time and time and time again, yet we keep hearing the same thing. What is wrong with this administration? What is wrong with the American people that we haven't demanded his removal from office? He is lying about the reasons we are sending our troops to DIE. To DIE! He's not lying about who gave him a hummer in the Oval Office. He is lying about the reaons we are killing Iraqis and seding our soldiers to DIE.

Damn he ticks me off!

And we are going to have this argument until one of you conservative hacks can give me a legitimate reason based on truth and fact and not simply regurgitating the lies being fed out of the White House.

1) Is it worth it to continue having so many troops come home in body bags? - maybe it is. Because so much is potentially riding on the outcome of Iraq, and the lives of so many innocent people.

2) What would happen if we just suddenly left Iraq tomorrow?
Chaos, destruction, even genocide could ensue.

3) Do we know what we mean when we use the word 'victory' in terms of Iraq?

4) Do we have a strategy to achieve victory?

why is it the first mention of being against Israel or zionism results in being branded a racist. It is not racist to be against a country or an ideology kept by a certian people. Americans constantly say they hate France, this must mean they hate catholics by their logic! but this is just not true!

Also United Nations General Resolution 3379 states that zionism is a form of racism

I take the UN is racist then?

your thoughts please?

deliberately posting many questions about Vitters and much of the righties response has been it's his business, private matter, who are you to judge,etc......
Just like LIBERALS have been saying for DECADES...
Not that they believe it -it's just to protect their republican flank - but it's horrifically fascinating to watch how they attempt to turn the tables from their Bible Thumping condemnations of everyone else.
Is their Hope for them yet though?

I've been reading a lot of questions on here, and I have found a somewhat aggravating trend....whenever someone talks about a democrat, the first thing a lot of conservatives is call them a socialist.

What is wrong with helping people out? And the cold war is over...so why do I feel like we still live during the red scare?

I just don't understand. If you look at countries who are mildly socialist (such as, dare I say it, France) ...citizens there are generally a lot happier then Americans. Why do we fear change here?

Angry residents of the Amin district — many of them Shiites who fled to Baghdad from Baqouba, where U.S. troops are waging an offensive against insurgents — accused U.S. helicopters of striking buildings during the fight with gunmen and killing civilians. The U.S. military did not immediately comment on the fighting.

I keep hearing conservatives complaining about how Democrats are taking so much in taxes out of everyone's paycheck (actually, cons only care about their OWN paycheck, not anyone else's)... yet Bush hasn't done anything about this. So why not?

I doubt if I have a truly accurate idea of the ramifications of Presidential decisions, but it's not hard to imagine that the issues the president deals with have ripple effects in many directions. A fairly clear example: help the kurds in Iraq and make the Turks mad. They are both important to us and helping one is certain to cause trouble for, and with, the other.
Or, for instance, cutting tariffs on South American agricultural products would be a good thing for most everyone but American farmers. So you have their lobby putting you in their sights. And who knows if american lobbys form alliances; "you support our cause and we'll support yours"? I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me a bit. So every action, perhaps, has some undesirable consequence. It might be a terribly difficult job evaluating pros and cons in the hopes of coming out ahead overall. Though I really mean well toward everyone, elect me president and you might have a disaster. can you do better
