As our latest Pulitzer prize winning journalist Cynthia Tucker of the Atlanta Constitution argues,we and the media have grossly underestimated just how Bush's fanatical Christian fundamentalism drives many of his behaviors .

As all know,Bush essentially told the world that God had/has led him to war against Iraq and make no mistake this religious fanatic believes it even if virtually all Christian Churches including his own Methodist Church has condemned Bush's Iraqi atrocity as being ANTI -CHRISTIAN .

Part of this extremely dangerous crap is that as a Christian Fundamentalist he believes in the much anticipated RAPTURE and in order for the RAPTURE to occur ,the State of Israel must be re-constituted as it was in Biblical times.IPSO FACTO,part of his religious motivation in warring with Iraq is to protect Israel not because Bush or the Christian fundies care that much about the Jews (for in fact ,fundies believe that Jews are bound for hell unless they convert) .

Add all this religious motivation to Bush's life long spoilt, arrogant behaviors and one soon realizes that Bush cannot even begin to "see the Truth of Iraq" because to do so would mean the his virtual abandonning of his religious zealotry as being wrong and raelizing and admitting his entire life has been nothing but what in fact it has been,a failed life saved ONLY by his father and his fathers rich/powerful friends from the filthy dictatorship family of Saudi Arabia (saved Bush's failed oil company and funded his purchase of the Texas baseball team) .

There are very few leaders in history that have had the moral and intellectual integrity to admit that they made a horrible mistake and Robert McNamara, the Johnson Vietnam war Secretary who was most accountable for the monumental error of Vietnam has in recent years realized just how wrong he was and has in fact admitted all this publically in at least one book he has written.

Bush just has just too little personal and intellectual ability/integrity to "see the truth of Iraq".

I suspect its because by admitting that this occupation of Iraq was never a good idea the last vestige of legitimacy will be stripped away from the Bush administration. Bush himself is only a stooge for greater forces within the current GOP, but even at that he's a 'true believer' in altering the social makeup of the middle east. Also, there is some truth in the complaint that simply leaving Iraq won't be the end of the problem and the Bush administration is aware of that as well. Overall, because of the incompetence and mindset of the current GOP there's no good outcome what ever is done in the aftermath of withdrawal. But at least the next administration, republican or democrat will know what not to do....let us pray!

The House voted to start withdrawing troops within 120 days and wants them all out by April of 2008.

Obama has subsidized down from what he initially suggested. Now he's speaking in basic terms like Bush whilst it is composed of the troops. possibly maximum all would be out via 2010 or 2011. yet another little turn-flop he did. yet one concern is constructive and that's oboviously Obama listens to his advisors. Too undesirable he did not pay attention to somebody in the past he spouted off how he would withdraw the troops as quickly as he became in workplace.

I hate to say something cheritable about Bush, but, yes, Leadership often is a matter of doing the unpopular thing because you think it's the right thing (even though you may well be wrong).

I'm sure that others might point out that scheduling a date for your own defeat might not seem the height of competent leadership, either...

Oil and money.

Fan the fire of false terror to maintain power. Homeland Security Directive that he signed allows him to seize and stay in power during and until the end of a national emergency. Same directive allows him to declare at any given time a national emergency without approval from Congress.

So much for system of check and balance.

Ken, he is a lame duck, and he has never concerned him self with details about how the electorate feel! The whole scam has come to light, no WMDs , faulty intelligence, which the executive branch controls. Thank God his term is almost over!

He does, and you don't. Consider the effects of a fragmented Iraq, in which Taliban and al Qaeda have free rein to brew more attacks against the US. Is this really what you want?

Why can't the rest of the country see the truth? Blinded by the media and power envy perhaps.
