The Iraqi government is achieving only spotty military and political progress, the Bush administration conceded Thursday in an assessment that war critics quickly seized on as confirmation of their dire warnings. Within hours, the House voted to withdraw U.S. troops by spring.

Barbara Bush needs to pluck the chimp fleas from your ears or something?

This president will go down in history as a genius beyond Einstein. He foresaw that by invading Iraq it would create a "terrorist magnet". Anyone in the Middle East with any inclination towards even mildly disliking North Americans would show their true colors. They would then be quickly drawn to Iraq to begin their terrorist careers. The "terror magnet" in Iraq has concentrated all of the world's terrorist in one easily accessible and manageable locality. For the next hundred years Iraq will remain occupied so that all the terrorist that are drawn there can easily be killed. Remember, those guys are worst than the Mafia. The Arabians hold grudges for 4 generations. So we have to hold firm and stay the course for the next four generations of Iraqis!

The country has not spoken. We speak with our votes. The people who were voted in were not voted in to stop President Bush, just to be seditious, like you are.

No backbone. They won't act on it unless forced to.

Spotty? Used to be they couldn't do anything at all.

I'd call that progress. Or did you expect immediate military control, and the magic end of all terrorism!

There will always be terrorism as long as Islam exists. They can't, by religious law, allow that country to remain free. It will ALWAYS be a target.

If the American people have spoken then it will happen. The Congress/Senate have the power to do it. If they don't, that is a reflection on them, not on President Bush. He was hired to do just the opposite and he's doing his job quite well. You just happen to disagree. Good. Patriots don't always agree.

Patriots also don't treat their President seditiously and call them names. Respectful protest? Yes. Even impeachment!

The crud you're doing (not the post, just the name calling), is contemptible. Same crud Former President Clinton had to deal with.

A lot of us are really tired of it.

Much as I disagree with our president on many issues, it would be wrong of him to react solely on the basis of polls. There are many factors to be considered in the decision to withdraw from Iraq. On the other hand, he should at least be willing to acknowledge the problems. Sometimes it just seems like he's oblivious.

Do you realize Bush will once again veto this bill? I never supported this war, and most Americans never really did, but Bush still won't allow them to pass that bill, and as much as I hate to say it, he is somewhat right in not listening to what polls say.

I'm so happy that the people have finally spoken and hopefully there will be an end to this folly. Let the Iraqis take care of themselves. If they want a crappy country, then let them.

He doesn't think he has to listen. All he has to do is cry "executive privilege" and neocons applaud him for his partisan loyalty.

The President isn't supposed to be playing party politics. But he is.

Good, let them pull the troops out, I let us put a democrat in the white house next year, let us see how they will deal with an Al Qaeda Run Iraq.

GOD SAVE US!

I never want a President that makes decisions based on the popularity of that decision or because popular opinion is driving in a direction. I suppose you have never considered that you might be incorrect.

Thank God for a President that stands with conviction for what he believes to be right.

He hasn't listened to anyone for the past six years who hasn't told him exactly what he wanted to hear (kinda why we're where we are). Do you really expect him to start now??

Because he's following, in part, his interpretation of Book of Revelation Armageddon.

And he's so naive that he's SURE he's right. And so stupid that he can't grasp the evidence to the conrtrary.
