Hasn't this been Al-Qaeda's strategy All along?

Knowing instead of doing what needs to be done they turn and run in an effort to save and keep their political powers.

OBL in a one of his taped triads when the war first started told his group to be patient. that Americans didn't have to stomach for war and would defeat themselves. he was right on. Harry Reid and his cronies are Ossama's biggest asset.

if you show fear to a mongrel dog...this only encourages it to be more agressive

stronger measures are needed to hunt these criminals down.

It is quite apparent that the USA is now in a potential death spiral. The golden years are long gone. The damage done to our country by class polarization, dependance on welfare and subsidies, political corruption so endemic that we have no sense of American identity. We need a total moratorium on all immigration for 5 years, and a different system of taxation, clarification of who is our friend and who is not. The decay of America has been accelerated by groups so stupid that they deflect attention from the true issues. It is not even remotely possible to expect America to recover to its past golden years, without a significant cost. I have posted several replies to other similiar questions and the questions usually hinted at the type of answer desired and the truth is not flexible . Unfortunately most of the questions on such a critical issue....are asked by children..We live in a world of the "haves" and the "have nots".........the only thing keeping peace now is the presence of weapons and power. The shift has started in the power balance......India and China have both displaced the USA in key areas.......unless we are willing to undergo a type of "isolation", the USA can not recover without removing and neutralizing the upper 2 % of wealthy Americans and corporations. Changing our sense of fair and unfair.....as it applies to Christian values.....not as it applies to money and greed. The lessons of the past have not been remembered, we are making the same mistakes again....only this time we dont have the resources to recover. The true spirit of America will live on, even if America the country falls apart. We need to stand up and be proud to be American and not give a damn what other countries think. We need to start taking care of our own.........we owe it to America

Al Qaeda's can't help but look at that and smile. They got us divided, and they gotta be loving that. They aren't splitting up on the war, they want us dead. They are eating this up. They can't wait till a new president pulls us out of Iraq and the rest of the region, so they regroup. They can't wait, and you know they are counting the days until the election.

The way I see it is rather simplistic, but I think it's the way it is.

alQaeda can't possibly defeat the United States militarily - any more than the North Viet Namese could - but they can sure beat the crap out of us on the home front in the public opinion arena - and don't for one second think that they don't know this. They are presently stepping up attacks in response to the troop surge in the face of great loses to themselves militarily - but gaining great victories in their pursuit of promoting a policy of defeat in this country.

It's really simple - more attacks? Must be the surge isn't working, time to leave.

Remember the TET offensive? History is repeating itself - and we're failing to respond in a way which would prevent us from yet another premature pull out and eventual defeat.
Get with it people, if ever there was a group of demented psychos that needs to be eradicated - it's these blood lust, fanatical militants hell bent on hatred and domination.

Either that or Al Qaida is playing into the Democrats hands. Hard to tell sometimes.

Al-Qaeda has NOTHING to do with why we're in Iraq.....so your question is moot.

If Democrats were declaring the war on terror to be a lost cause, your question would have relevance but as it stands, it does not.

I've been paying taxes to support the Democrat's war on poverty all of my life. And the same folks say the war on terror is lost.

Well, I guess it will keep the dems in office.

No, actually their goal is to bankrupt this country which they have pretty much succeeded in doing, except they voted to raise the national debt limit a year or so ago

Yes, they know, as does the rest of the world now, that America has gone soft.
