Peace keeping? Maybe with the new president but not before.

France sells missiles and other weapons to hostile groups and hostile countries in the Middle East. Also, France has had a huge problem with foreigners rioting in their own streets.

Because they put their national interests before anything else, and could some really blame them for not joining forces to be in Iraq, looking at how great it turned out to be.

If people have to view them as anything, it should be intelligent. Remember the guy that wins the chicken race dies and the looser does the prom queen.

It's not a matter of peace keeping. It's a matter of hatred toward a nation and especially their military that liberated them from an evil force. They have thumbed their noses at us ever since.
The only reason for participation in the first gulf war was money, they stood to make a lot rebuilding Kuwait. Instead, they tried to begin trade with Iraq.
Now, they oppose us because we're there and they aren't pulling near as much cash as they'd like too.

ive never hated france or opposed their decisions as a soverign nation - thats for the french people to decide, not the american people. but peace-keeping when it means submitting to evil, oprression, outside threats and threats to soverignty is cowardly. the vichy government of WWII tried to keep peace with hitler. they were cowards. de gaule and the resisters were not. and sarkozy (who refuses to keep peace with domestic socialists and radicals) kicks a s s right now.
