maybe i can shed some light on it for you. Having been in Iraq for 3 tours, i can tell you the care packages are most appreciated. I enjoyed getting letters from school kids i didnt know, telling me how they hoped i was safe. We recieved homemade goodies around Christmas, and they were great, again, thank you very much. When i came home, I went through LAX, to board a plane home to Ohio. While walking through LAX in dress whites, i couldnt help notice the stares from some of the people. One lady walked up to me and asked if she could hug me. She said God Bless you, I am glad you are home. I have no idea who this lady was to this day. As i sat awaiting to board my plane, two men walked by and as one stared my way, the other remarked "babykiller".
I dont hold the opinions of either of these against them. Maybe, People generalize others by who the others associate themselves with. I could easily identify the older woman that hugged me as a conservative and the two "men" that walked by as liberals. I guess i will never know.
When some liberals stand up and say they hate the troops or call us murderers, i cant help but think you all think the same way. Guess it's just human nature. Oh, and before some other liberal asks me why i am not back in Iraq now fighting, It's because i only have one arm now, instead of two. Again, we appreciate your support..

I am for the troops. I want them out of a war we can't win with an Iraqi government that won't , after 4 years, pull their own weight! That being the case, we will have troops there forever, in a civil war we started! I guess it is OK if Exxon can get there 4 Million Barrels of oil out every month! When Bush Took Office, Gas Was $1.46!
The Army loves the troops so much they are kicking them out of the service so they don't have to pay them benefits with a "pre-existing Personality Disorder" without ever of making a pre-diagnosis! Many had been in Iraq twice, many were wounded, one a rocket went off 20 feet over his head! Some already had a diagnosis of PTSD! Many had Purple Hearts.
They are making them pay back any bonus they got! So far the Army has gotten rid of 22,000 Iraqi vets this way so they don't have to pay and these kids live forever screwed up lives, just like many of my friends!! Aren't you surprised????
I sure am not!!
I want them home. I want the body bags to stop and I want Bush to put the money he cut the VA Hospitals put back in! I am sick of Republicans, and I am sick of this war! Do you have any idea the emotional issues this causes Vietnam Vets?
George Bush: Creating the Terrorists Our Kids Will Have to Fight
PS. In the last Army Times poll, even active US Military do not support Bush and they say by almost 60% that we should have never gotten involved in Iraq! Even the troops can't stand Bush!

I haven't seen anyone call liberals a troop hater, but I have seen some pretty miserable troop haters in the military section asking terrible questions about the troops.

Yes, yes, yes. Let's get this straight. All Americans love and support our troops.
I don't have a "Support Our Troops" magnet on my car, but I do donate money to help the troops in Iraq make phone calls home and we donate regularly to USO.
I agree, our efforts to bring the troops home alive to be with their family is the real support for our troops.

I heard another troop hater in congress say the lives lost in Iraq were squandered. How do you think that makes the troops feel? If you support the troops, support the mission. If you deliberately try to lower morale or do intentionally doesn't matter. What you are saying, in reality is. I don't hate the troops. If they suffer from low morale, it's not my fault. Well honey, it is.

I have noticed those counter productive arguments on and on over here! I guess they lack brain to understand your position, and that they don`t use it often!!
Anyways, they play the game well! Just hope peoples will stop buying into this, as it served only the purpose of nobody in doing so!!

It's annoying--but no, not at all.
For one very good reason: the more the neocons throw their mindless epithets, the more they are alienating the overwhelming majority who are decent Americans, of all political persuasions.
So I can take the heat while they cook their own goose. :)

We'll quit calling the Liberals the enemies of the troops when the Liberals quit saying that the Insurgents are Freedom Fighters and the Liberals quit calling our own Troops terrorists, and when the Liberals quit aiding and comforting the enemy.

crabby_blindguy is right.
Time, and our troops when they finally return, will reveal who really cared about our fellow citizens that serve in Iraq.
