Le Moyne College/Zogby Poll shows just one in five troops want to heed Bush call to stay “as long as they are needed”
While 58% say mission is clear, 42% say U.S. role is hazy
Plurality believes Iraqi insurgents are mostly homegrown
Almost 90% think war is retaliation for Saddam’s role in 9/11, most don’t blame Iraqi public for insurgent attacks
Majority of troops oppose use of harsh prisoner interrogation
Plurality of troops pleased with their armor and equipment
An overwhelming majority of 72% of American troops serving in Iraq think the U.S. should exit the country within the next year, and more than one in four say the troops should leave immediately.

Al Gore critisized George Bush Sr. for not going into Iraq during the Gulf War because he said Saddam supported terrorists and he was producing WMDs.

Bill Clinton bombed Iraq for four days in December of 1998 to prevent Iraq's use of WMDs. Bill Clinton said, "Their mission is to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors."

On April 27, 2005, while seeking renewal of the broad powers granted law enforcement under the USA Patriot Act, Gonzales told the Senate Intelligence Committee, "There has not been one verified case of civil liberties abuse" from the law enacted after the 9/11 terror attacks.

Six days earlier, the FBI had sent Gonzales a copy of a report that said its agents had obtained personal information to which they were not entitled.

Several of the reported violations were referred to the President's Intelligence Oversight Board and copied to other officials. The heavily redacted documents, obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation under the Freedom of Information Act, include referrals to the board dating back to 2004. Several referrals were copied to then-Attorney General John Ashcroft.

One was sent to Gonzales, dated April 21, 2005 — less than a week before he testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Did he read it and lie to congress about it? Or is he simply incompetent?

Many of us know today Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. George Bush said so himself. Iraq, to those who still can think clearly, was obviously, at the very least (giving everyone involved the extreme benifit of the doubt) a misguided venture.
It would seem that America has become in every sense of the meaning, an imperialistic state. In the name of justice, to redeem our name, we call for te insanity to end. But are you willing to take the hit?
Are you willing to admit our system is less than perfect? Are you willing to admit to the injustices it creates? Are you willing to relinquish the ideal of being the prime nation and become a normal member of the international community again? In one word: Can we give up the addiction to being a power?
Conservaties, democrats, international responses. I don't care.
You want to call me a commie? Fine. That won't get us anywhere.
But perhaps you actually have something interesting to say. Where have we gone wrong and how can we fix it?

Here is a group of people employed to get around the law in reguard to pollution

To fire the pregnant woman - to eliminate a benifit package as outlined by X and do it legally

In what way has the corperate lawyer not behaved as a sociopath harming the society for a corperate entity that insists on paying out multiple millions to have a laywer get them out of having to obey the law ?

How has the corperate lawyer justified his or her existence in society ?

Each terrorist act brings liberals scrambling to remind us that, "Islam is a religion of peace." Any condemnation of the thousands of murders, terrorists acts and atrocities perpetrated in the name of Islam always brings liberals to mumble something lame about, "Every religion has it's extremists, Christians kill abortion doctors".
Yeah...ok

What have there been 2 or 3 abortion doctors killed in the last 30 years? Ah, but liberals have their priorities, you see.

My suspicion is that the Left had been deeply demoralized by the downfall of the communist USSR and Eastern Europe. They were looking for another power to challenge the so called Western "hegemony". Radical Islam fits the bill

Look no further than communist dictator Hugo Chavez to confirm evidence of this emerging alliance between the radical Left and radical Islam. He declared the Iranian despot Ahmadinejad his "brother". "We have thoughts, objectives and interests in common," Ahmadinejad said.

Indeed

You stay up for 16 hours

He stays up for days on end.

You take a warm shower to help you wake up.

He goes days or weeks without running water.

You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.

He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.

You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends.

He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.

You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket.

He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.

You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you.

He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.

You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.

He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.

You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.

He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.

Well after his now 4th "surge" has failed like all the others he will tell the American people that he is going to start slowing withdrawing or redeploying US troops out of Iraq this Fall.

Just slow enough that he can keep the war going right until he leaves office in 2009 & no longer has to worry about having to admit defeat. He'll hand that responsiblity to Hilary.

Carl Rove is a genius albeit an evil one.

On his July 9th show he said- "I don't know who's accusing [Hillary Clinton] of murdering anybody"

But in 1994 he claimed Vince Foster was murdered in an apartment owned by Hillary - interestingly enough the source he used for this never claimed Foster was murdered, nor that the apartment was owned by Clinton.

Then in 2005 he said Cindy Sheehan was in danger of being found dead in Fort Marcy Park (where Vince Foster committed suicide) if she didn't stop criticizing Hillary.

Is this guy playing with a full deck, or does he have his dittoheads so completely brainwashed that he can say anything - and they believe it?

ex. the question about why the aclu isn't outraged at muslims praying in school.

Don't you people understand that YOU HAVE THE RIGHT to pray in school as long as it's not disrupting the class or other students.

But you MANY NOT lead the class in prayer. OR attempt to mandate public prayer.

Are people simply too stupid to comprehend these simple facts?

Democrat Congress Has Failed

San Francisco Chronicle, Edward Epstein writing: "Senate Democrats, increasingly restive over the war in Iraq, plan to force a series of votes starting today aimed at either changing the course of President Bush's policy or embarrassing Republican members over their continued support for a war the public has soured on." They've done this over and over and over again, but, "This time, Reid said, things will be different. 'We want there to be change and it should not be a fig leaf,' he said." These things are going to be different this time. "A draft of the interim report," whether the Iraqi government has reached its benchmarks, "circulated Monday among government agencies, concludes that the government in Iraq has met none of its targets for political, economic and other reform, an official who asked not to be identified told the Associated Press. Another report, this one from Iraq commander Gen. David Petraeus and Ambassador to Baghdad Ryan Crocker on how Bush's troop-increase strategy is working, is due by Sept. 15. But," as I told you yesterday, Dingy Harry "Reid and the Republican Senate defectors said they don't want to wait until then to change Iraq policy." They don't want to wait until General Petreaus reports in September, for all the obvious reasons. "The strategy of the Republican Senate leadership as Democrats seek votes on anti-war amendments is still not clear." Of course it's not clear because they're undecided what their strategy ought to be.

But let me give you a couple realities here, folks, and listen to me on this. Reality number one is that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are running Congress and they have been running Congress twice as long as the General Petraeus plan has been in place. Reality number two is that public support for Congress has collapsed. Have you seen the latest polls? I don't care what the president's numbers are. They are what they are. The congressional numbers are even worse.

Do we not think, ladies and gentlemen, that it may be time for new leadership in Congress? Perhaps maybe Senator Reid should be replaced and Speaker Pelosi should resign. Congress needs a new direction. Take every argument they're using to get us out of Iraq -- ignore Petraeus, deny his plan, the time to work and so forth -- and turn it around against them. The current leadership of Congress has failed. They've failed to deliver on their promises. They failed to set the country on the right course! They've failed to gain the support of the American people. They're a total political failure. As a matter of fact, during their leadership, Reid and Pelosi, the American people have rejected, overwhelmingly rejected their leadership. Anybody who has lost faith with General Petraeus has to be disgusted with Reid and Pelosi. If the Petraeus leadership can be judged in, what is it, two or three months now, the Reid and Pelosi leadership's had two or three times as much time and has clearly accomplished zilch, zero, nada, nothing, except a whole bunch of political stunts: Armani suits, grandchildren on the knee, a big mallet, 100 hours on the road to nowhere, secondhand smoke legislation, secondhand mirrors, minimum wage, a bunch of chicanery supposedly getting rid of earmarks but not really doing it -- and America gets it. Disapproval of the Reid-Pelosi Congress has collapsed, 37% to 24% after only six months. Well, if we're not even going to give Petraeus the full length of time he was promised and assured, and we're going to pronounce it a failure already and "a collapse of leadership" and there's no political will and support, the Iraqi people haven't met their benchmarks, well, neither the hell have Reid or Pelosi. They haven't met one benchmark. They haven't done one thing. The support for the US Congress in this country has not just plummeted. It has totally collapsed. So using their line of reasoning and thinking, we need new leaders in Congress, and we need them now. The Democrats are the ones that need the new plan and they need the new plan now, folks.
