of course he woulden't "belong" there, but would it be bad if he were to go that way to give himself a foundation, or would he encounter troubles and be best off elsewhere?

Can the term "Mayday" be used by land forces in distress? I thought only pilots can use it.

I was watching a small clip from a funeral on TV the other day and it showed a speaker conducting what i guess was roll call. He called the names of two soldiers who responded with "here, sir" then they called the name of what i assume was the fallen soldier three times. First it was corporal Lance (I'm just making this name up) then after a moment of silence he said corporal John Lance. Then after another silence he said Corporal John Andrew Lance. I was just wondering what significance this held since i've never been to a military funeral. The widow just absolutely lost it during this part so I was just thinking i want to better understand it.

My husband is active duty NAVY and he is up for shore duty. His job was overmanned so they made him wait to re-enlist. Now we are being relocated to Tallahassee, Florida to a reservist base. What exactly does this mean? Do we lose our benefits? What about BAH? I know there is no base housing there and we only have 2 months to find a home in a state that is 12 hours away. Anyone familiar with a situation like this?

Going to MEPS Wed to sign my contract and what not.

But I havent done anything physical in over a year, I guess you can say im out of shape. But just for shits I decided to see how many pushups I could do in a minute and I did 55.

So I figured that basic will prepare me for what I will endour physically at Ranger school, am I wrong?

I am 20 5'10, 155.

I usually get into shape really fast, like for instance after lifting weights for around 3 months 3x a week I got up to 195 and was pretty solid.

Also if for some reason I cant get RIP in my contract, because for instance there are no slots should I enlist 11x anyway and just apply while I am in? I heard from a Ranger himself to MAKE SURE I get it in my contract, but I may not be able to. So what are the odds of obtaining RIP after Airborne by applying while I am already in?

The U.S. Government sells surplus military equipment....everything from vehicles and aircraft to bunks and blankets. I am looking for an unarmed helicopter that seats four to six but it must have the "hours flown log". Having the log is the only way the chopper can be converted to a civilian aircraft. Please, serious resonses only if you know someone or a broker that deals in military surplus.

Was it for the good or bad? What changed?

I changed into someone who is more confident but confrontational and have a tiny bit of an explosive temper.

For the most part my change was for the bad. There was some good.

I recently ran across my Granfathers military things, or atleast some of them, and it has really got me interested in his role in WW2. He died when I was young so I never got to talk to him about it, and my Grandmother doesn't know that much about it. Anyway, what I was wondering is; he has patches from the 8th Army, 5th Air Force, and the 41st Infantry Brigade. I don't know how the military gives out patches so how could he have all of those. I'm just trying to find out anything that I can about his service. Anything would help. Anything about these Units or about how the military gives out patches or anything.

Would he insist people be sure to mention his name? Would he get angry if people didn't pay enough attention to him? A lot of his followers have a righteous indignation about this alleged "war" and I have to wonder which side Jesus would be on...
