Crazy? Good heavens, why would you say that? The Army isn't such a bad choice. My brother-in-law is in the Army, and he enjoys it. Like any branch, it's a lot of work, for a little money, but he can retire after 20 years and start a second career.
My former boss retired from the Army, then retired from Virginia Tech, received 2 doctorates, and is now an attorney at 77 years old. Talk about amazing.

He's not necessarily crazy. He may be a patriot, and want to serve his country. He may be doing it for the educational benefits, or the leadership training that he can get. He may get training in a vocation that he can use to build a career.
Don't forget, not everyone in the army lands in the front lines. Only a small part of the Army is infantry. There are still cooks, doctors, mechanics, clerks, truck drivers, painters, pavers, pilots, and plumbers. You can learn a lot more there than just how to shoot a gun and follow orders.

Your brother is not crazy going into the army. If he wants to display his patriotism and possibly sacrifice his life for the safety and liberty you receive in the United States of America, don't be a douchebag and question his sanity, rather thank him on the behalf of the rest of the American people.

God forbid someone wants to serve his country. He must be crazy. That also makes every President except Clinton crazy, including FDR, Washington, Lincoln, Kennedy, Ford, Teddy Roosevelt...

I truly believe that some people are born to serve in the armed forces, both here in the United States and in countries all over the world. I believe they are indeed a special breed. If he truly wants to serve, he is a part of that 'special breed'.

He's actually very brave an will become a Hero! Let him serve his country if he wants to, not many people are brave enough to do so, those who are, are truly Hero's, God bless them! The only thing you can do is pray for him an all the other troop's out there.

no, whats crazy is for a liberal pelosi/reid regime supporter to think that unilateral surrender or swearing off the defense of this coutnry for some skewed political grandstanding mauever is sane. it isnt. this country has been defended successfully for over two hundred years by unselfish patriots like the one in your family, you can and should take a lesson from someone like that.
