As far as conditioning:
- Be able to run 4 miles under 32 minutes in boots and pants..while on sand!
- Be able to do 100 push ups easy (trainees do over a thousand on some days...not in a row, 1st phase its sets of 20, after hellweek its sets of 30, 2nd phase sets of 40, and 3rd...you guessed it! 50)
- Be good with pull ups too
- Have your abs worked out to, threr's alot of sit ups and flutter kicks
-Be determined!
For swimming:
-Be used to flippers
-Get comfortable underwater (especially when low on oxygen)
- Be used to being underwater at depths up to 50 ft

-Also try to be proficient with the M4 rifle beforehand, to make life easier!

As for studying...dont worry about it, the tests are relatively easy if you study what the instructors teach you...basic physics, underwater navigation, etc

If you would like to succeed then listen to what the instructors tell you, and apply it to the hardships you face:
-One evolution at a time, one day at time (it helps!)
-It pays to be a winner (winners in evolutions ALWAYS get breaks, while the losers get hammered)
-Believe in yourself!

If being a frogman is what you REALLY want to do, BUD/S and SQT then all that should be a breeze.

Good Luck and Hopefully we'll see you on the teams!

Well, enlisting in the Navy would be a good first start.
From that point, be a super-achiever and all around uber-soldier in every way you can. Stand out from the crowd. Seek responsibility. And yes, work out like a mad-man.

Get a book on the subject written by a Navy SEAL. They know it better than anyone else.

You need to be a great swimmer, physically fit, emotionally strong and mentally fears. I had navy seal deploy with my squadrons, and the number one thing they said you need to show is that you won't quite, no matter what.

but if you don't make it you better love the rate you choose, because you still be under contract.

Study hard, get good grades and beat the crap out of yourself in the gym.

Keep a good mindset, dont focus on what happens if you fail....than you already lost. Focus on what you need to do to succeed.
