You know, like the elaborately staged re-enactments of the Battle of Gettysburg. Those shows are impressive, and the participants take them seriously enough to enjoy the heck out of the experience. Do you suppose some young historian in, say, 2070 will research The War on Christmas and become so enamoured of the subject that s/he designs costumes and writes battle scripts and sweet-talks alumni into financing the whole thing? And -- here's the kicker -- would you pay admission to see the show?

(If you're still around, of course.)

My recruiter told me that the cutoff date to apply to ROTC was one's junior year of high school. However, I found out it's the first semester of one's sophomore year...in college! ROTC allows one to graduate from college with financial assistance, but all of my college is paid for already. With ROTC, it's easier: no BMT, just 4 weeks of OSC.

My dilemma is that I already signed the Oath of Enlisted (was sworn in), and in the DEP (deploying in June). If I had known that joining the ROTC was an option, I would have gladly taken it.

Also, if I decline the enlistment, do I get a record stating that I failed to join?

I need the sources because I need to present them to my recruiter and ensure a healthy decline, and not one built on statements of unsure reality; I need to know whether or not they're genuine facts

My husband and I are being relocated to Tallahassee Florida. We do not have much time because my husband had to wait to re-enlist. So we only have a couple of months. When we came here we found Lincoin Military online but we cant find anything for that area, anyone know?

Does anyone know where i can find a list of non-deployable medical regulations? My husband has been told by lost of medics and doctors that he should not be deployed because of a previous condition he has, but his doc insist he will be ok. My husband has also been told that he should be medically discharged because of his condition. Is there a web site or something that gives a list of medical conditions that keeps a soldier from being deployed?

We have joint custody but I have primary physical custody. He was released from the military due to domestic violence. He has been awarded visitation but no overnights. I followed him during his military career and as a result I do not have a career of my own. The military will provide me with a career to support my children and healthcare for the three of us.

1941 was a tense time, all major powers in the Pacific had their ships in the open sea...the US congress at the time did not allocate funds to upgrade the navy and airforce...so...all old ships were moored at Pearl Harbor...the 3 aircraft carriers (new ships) were not there.....they were in the open sea....it was too much of an invitation not to attack...only Yamamoto warned not to attack but was overruled by the Samorai.....Yamamoto had studied in the US and knew the industrial powerhouse......USA...

I'm graduating in May with my undergrad in political science and am curious to how competitive it is to get into the school.

I understand factors such as GPA and fields of interest are important, but is there any other information or insight anyone could provide. I plan on meeting with a recruiter soon by the way. Thank you in advance for your answers!

The word soldier refers specifically to US Army personnel, just as Marine refers to USMC personnel. The same is true for sailors and airmen. So then why dont they capitalize soldiers, sailors, airmen? Just curious. Thanks.

Any other ideas why we attack Iraq besides those that don`t make any sence, like:
1. They had WMD - they never had and we knew that.
2. They had connections with al-qaida - they never had and we knew that, Saddam was fighting terrorism and separatism within his country.
3. To bring them Democracy - Iraq was more socially advanced than most countries in arab world and iraqi women had more liberties than any other arab country.
4. To finish his dads job - doesn`t make any sence why 3,000 young boys and girls have to give their lives to finish his dads job.
Please exclude those answers.
