The MOS for Firemen is a hard MOS to get into. If that is what you want to do then it is a goo choice for you then. Yes you do get to have fun too. You are going to have time off just like a normal job. You would probably workon some sort of rotation schedule.

Job training for a Firefighter consists of nine weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 13 weeks, one day of Advanced Individual Training, including practice in fighting fires. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field. You'll learn about:

Types of fires
Firefighting equipment operations
Firefighting procedures
First aid procedures
Rescue procedures

As for where BT is I am not totally sure.

wanna be a firefighter??? join the air force or the navy. their programs are way better than that of the army. you stand a better chance of getting a civilian job afterwards if you go in the air force. reason being is that it is a very hard job to get into. i'm not saying that the army's program is bad, i'm just saying that the airforce's is better. choice is yours but i'd do some serious research before signing on the dotted line.

The Army needs you for Iraq and later on for Iran.
