Even in the face of lies, evidence supporting the foundation of rich contractors being awarded cost plus contracts, and having a military presence in the Middle East, why do people continue to support the war? Please give detailed reasons, not defamatory responses. Thanks!

our current military recruitment system is 'all-volunteer' right? But according to this passage from CQ Researcher....it causes financial issues for the members of the military? I need help interpreting?

And to get the recruits it needs the military is increasing sign-up bonuses. The Army in June asked Congress to double the cash bonus to $40,000 and to provide up to $50,000 in home-mortgage help for recruits who sign up for eight years of active duty. Other proposals pending in Congress would increase the top enlistment bonus to $30,000 from $20,000 and provide $10,000 in re-enlistment bonuses for certain reservists.
Money Woes
Money is a major issue for reservists and National Guard members. As “part-time” soldiers, they have full-time civilian jobs that they must leave, and their military paychecks are often much skimpier than what they earn in the private sector. Annual Reserve wages range from under $15,000 for a private to $132,000 for a major general

Well in two weeks I'll be turning 18 and I just got a call from military recruiter wanting to come visit me and tell me about the military and since there's a war going on when I sign the draft card or whatever it is will they pull me out of high school while the war is going on and take me to boot camp and deploy me? or they won't pull me out until after high school since the recruiter asked me what are your plans after high school? By any chance does anyone know when the war will end? also I have asthma and I have ADD I heard that you can't go into the military if you have asthma

Does anyone in the military know how they determine what increment you are in when you advance? I've heard some people say that it's determined by your percentile - if so, what percentile for which increment??

I was in the 82nd percentile... would I have by any chance made increment???

BUT, there always has to be a but, my GPA is a 3.2, and I am not in a hard major (English). I know they have a public policy program for officers (as my mother was an officer in that particular field), but anyway, I don't really want to ask my mom about it, because I am not even sure I want to join, and I know if I couldn't just go in as an officer I wouldn't want to join at all. I don't know, I just wondered if I had any chance, I guess.

My friend needs to join but he's telling me that the recruiter says he can't because he had his shoulder dislocated 7 years ago. He is a known liar and I would like to know if he is telling the truth.

I've never been in the Navy, but I'm trying understand the logistics of a sailor's discharge after completing his or her service. What I'd like to know is what city were you in? Did you come right off a ship? Or were you on a base somewhere? Was a happy event? Did it feel almost like a celebration? What did you do to celebrate?

I am engaged, she is in college and I am just starting an internship with GM. What is a way I can serve my country without being deployed a year at a time? I know a lot about the Military, I almost enlisted out of high school but than she made it clear she wanted to get married and other problems came up and I just want to serve in any way I can now, what else is there besides enlisting or joining the reserves?

Shooting games these days often put the player in the shoes of the soldier in WW2, Vietnam, the Iraq War, and so on. Is it disrespectful to buy these games and play them. READ THIS PART PLEASE. I really want to buy some of these games because they are fun, but do not want to do wrong and disrespect those that have served their country in the most honorable way anyone can. What should I do? One such developer of video games has a military consultant on the game and helped aid in the process of making the video game. This military consulant, Capt. Dale Dye, actually served in Vietnam, received three purple hearts, survived 31 major combat operations, and received a bronze star for valor. Games that involve real wars that have happened may not be all that disrespectful to him. Do games involving fictional story lines, but that still involve the Marines and some what of a resemblence of current events such as Call of Duty 4; disrespectful?
