22 years of active duty in the US Army, and not one regret.

Wish I could go back and do it all over again.

No regrets. Just make sure you enlist for a job you will remain interested in over the long-haul. If you don't like the job you get now, when your first re-enlistment comes up, you have the opportunity to go into another MOS.

Once your in, and get to your first duty station, ask your Platoon Sergeant if you can enroll in the FAST program and retake your ASVAB to get your score up to at least 100 so you actually have some options when re-enlistment time comes around.

If you have some time, study up now and retake the ASVAB before you go in and see if you can get it up! That way you'll have more options whne you enlist. Try for at least a 95, but anything over 100 is preferable.

Try to find a job that you want to pursue on the civilian side.

I served 8 years active duty Army no regrets and currently going back into the reserves.

Good luck to you.

Good ASVAB score. Your job will have a lot of bearing as to if you get your degree while still serving. Rotating shifts, deployments, TDY's, can all mess with that. Then if you throw in a spouse and kids you triple the odds. But it is possible, my husband did it. Best of luck.

I've been in 6 years, traveled to Korea and South America. I do not regret one bit of it. Find a job that you would like to stay in and be prepared to travel. There are tons of oppertunities for you.
