I just learned some new physics calculations and, since I was stationed on an aircraft carrier a while back, I decided to plug in some numbers. After some calculations, I came up with an illusionary tilt of about 76 degrees. Is this true or did I screw something up? Does anybody know anything about this?

It means that during flight operations at night, when you can't see anything, you feel like you're going up at an angle of 76 degrees greater than your actual angle. So you might feel like diving the jet nose down into the water in order to compensate.

This can't be right.

I want to know what bootcamp is really like from someone who experienced it. I'm already in the program and am going so please dont lie to influence my decision. Also how should I mentally and physically prepare for bootcamp.. Im doing pretty good with the physical things except for the running which I am horrible at. Lastly is there anything that is learned in bootcamp that i can jumpstart myself on as in research or a physical obsticle...Thank You

Me and my friends found a military defense bunker here in Hawaii on Hickam AFB..... we've done some research and found that they are known as Fort Kamehameha and were mortar pits that defended the entrance to pearl harbor. We're also looking for a way in to the underground network....but the military has sealed the main doors......I know there are other ways in....but we cant find them...... were looking for old pictures, blueprints, or any kinda info that could help us....

My hubby is active USAF. We've been stationed in SC now for 6 yrs. I would LOVE to buy a home instead of renting these crappy apt's. He's terrified to buy a home and then us get stationed out of state. What can I do to change his mind or have him understand that there are many military families that own their own homes that move often. We also have a almost 5 yr old daughter and working on having another child. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

I want to join the Military but I do not want to cut my long pretty hair, so is there a branch in the Military that does not require women to cut their hair during bootcamp?

Please, only qualified people (Preferably Navy Nukes) answer...I don't need a bunch of random people posting personal uninformed opinions about how they hate the military.

My family doesn't have the money for me to finish college (was an engineering major), and even having good grades scholarships haven’t helped enough (so much for being an officer). I heard about the Navy Nuclear Power School, how you can earn some college credit (but not an actual degree) and apply for the enlisted to commissioning program. I got a 95 on the asvab, so supposedly I will do well in this program.

My question: Is it worth it? Would it be better to enlist in this program than try to finish college? Do people actually get commisioned if they do well?

Why is it that its always people who have nothing to do with the military saying bring the troops home? Most troops cant stand people protesting for us to come home we wanna do our job. If we are unhappy we will complain we dont need you to do it for us. We joined the military knowing what the consequences of war are. Please stop complaining and just enjoy the freedom you have.

"The British used to, and still do, occupy towns by living in them, not walking down alleys and roadways like sitting ducks"-This argument has been made by many people I know.

Since then I have been in the AF Reserve for 12 years and have had two honorable discharges and countless deployments.

Had a break up with a girlfriend when I was in AIT, classic "Dear John Letter". A year latter joined the reserves and have been there ever since.
