I have two signal badges. One OD green circular background with two black triangles (bow tie shape) and another identical but with a red background and blue triangles. What do they mean / What are they?

Sounds like the 7th to me.

They were the 7th Light at Ft. Ord when I went thru Basic.

True that - the 7th IN was at Ft. Irwin - don't think that they are there anymore. The 7th IN patch patch is a "bowtie" standing up (vertical). Don't know or have not seen any units with the "bowtie" horizontal.

It was modeled after the "black widow" symbol
