Me and my friends found a military defense bunker here in Hawaii on Hickam AFB..... we've done some research and found that they are known as Fort Kamehameha and were mortar pits that defended the entrance to pearl harbor. We're also looking for a way in to the underground network....but the military has sealed the main doors......I know there are other ways in....but we cant find them...... were looking for old pictures, blueprints, or any kinda info that could help us....

Mortars were always used back then to defend harbor entrances due to their high trajectory. Ships, especially battleships, had very thick face plate armor to defend against flat shooting guns on other ships. The bomb that hit the forward deck of USS Arizona and penetrated to the powder magazine, exploding it like a firecracker, is proof of the vulnerability to high trajectory shells and bombs.

There are equally good mortar pits in the Philippines on Corregidor Island. You can see what they looked like here....
