Q. Do I have to attend Basic Training again?
A. In the Army, former members of other services (except the Marine Corps), are required to attend the four-week Warrior Transition Course at Fort Bliss, Texas. Former Soldiers and Marines who have a break in service of more than three years must also attend this course. For the purpose of this section, for soldiers and Marines who separate, break in service starts after Military Service Obligation (MSO) is completed or when a member (regardless of service) is no longer a member of a reserve component (including the IRR)

No. Suggestion: Re qualify(zero) with the m-16 rifle, and go to the gas chamber to check your mask for leaks. If time permits(probably not) see if you can get some expertise with the m-50 caliber machine gun, and other special weapons @ your disposal. Note: if the army needs you that bad, your refresher courses will be brushed up very rapidly, and what you got in basic training treated as what everyone already knows.

Not anymore. You used to have to back through basic if you had been out for a certain amount of time. Nowadays, if you're in that situation, you go through the "Warrior Transition Course" with all the Airmen and Sailors.

The answer regarding Air Force prior service is incorrect. If you
were in a specialty like security forces you do not have to go to basic.

No. You might have to go to WTC and get some refresher skills. It depends how long you have been out.
