Well they don't let you drill with an iPod if that is what you mean! There is little free time and you should check before you go if you can take electronics with you. There is a day room and they usually have a stereo or radio in there. Music will be the least of your needs, there will be other things occupying your mind and your time. It is important that you spend time with your fellow trainees, get to know them, pal around, and share info, etc. Your life depends on being able to read each other and depend on each other so music is kind of a distraction in the training process. It could cause you to lose focus or not interact with others. I would give the training staff my full attention if I were you.

LOL music nah...the only music you will hear in BCT is the Drill Sergeants yelling at you and all of the cadences that will be sung other then that there is no music the only other two words that will be music to you ears are going to be "chow time". The words that aren't music to your ears are "drink water" and " front leaning rest position move " .

You will hear ONE tune at "0" dark hundred and the other is at sunset. Don't count on any lullabies from your DI.
Are you a Junior? I knew a guy from El Paso, to Torrance now in Albuquerque with a very similar name.

absolutely not. The only time I heard music was when I was ordered to clean the gym. And to be honest, any of the recruits that were asked to clean the gym LOVED it because we heard music.

in Boot camp you don't have time to listen to music, you would be lucky if you had enough time to think in between being smoked and being screamed at. On a lighter note it all depends on the instructors.

you will hear music in all bootcamps at 0800 and at 2200. during the 2200-0500 time frame you will also hear the mellow sounds of sobbing and snoring, thats the music you will hear.

Yep, it's called your DI's voice. That sweet cadence call will rock you to sleep and get you up!! Rock on Gunny, I can still hear you saying, "You can slow down, but don't you ever quit!"
