There are around 9 private military contractor companies based in the UK. How do they get the practice using up to date weapons such as rifles and pistols if they are completely illegal under British law???

Remember they are privately owned not government owned!!!

I have a guy who's currently deployed to Iraq.

First off, the communication has been strained (naturally) but a few weeks ago, it was our Anniversary. He called and said, "Happy Anniversary" but made a strange comment later on in the conversation.

I said, "Yes, it seems like yesterday that we met and became a couple" and he said...

"We've only spent a total of six months together physically"

It really offended me when he said that...and I had no idea of what context he meant it in.

Our line got disconnected.

I got very angry afterwards. And I decided not to write him for a while. It's been a week, and I already feel guilty for not writing him. It's such a confusing situation...

I just don't understand why he'd say that, even. So, now I want to write him...but I don't know what to say.

Apart of me is at loss for words. I'm a faithful to him and almost always make an effort. I know he's deployed, but my thoughts are, why did he call if he was going to

Who wins in this test of two of the first operational combat jet fighters?

Let's assume pilots of approximately equal capacities, combat close enough to home bases that both fighters have sufficient fuel for a dogfight. Good weather.

Who wins?

Remember, first jet-to-jet combat was an F-80 (aka P-80) against a MIG-15 and the F-80 jock won.

Gentlemen, don your oxygen masks and start your engines!

My husband is 28 and in good shape. He wants to enlist in the military, preferably the Air Force. The only thing is, we have three children already. We've heard somewhere that there is a maximum amount of dependents that you can have when enlisting and that with 3 kids plus a wife, four dependents wouldn't be acceptable.

Can you explain it to me?

I know 2 years after commissioning, Ensigns are promoted to Lt. (jg). Then to Lt.... After Lt., they go to Lieutenant Commander, but do they incur a longer service commitment upon themselves? Can they serve some of that commitment in the Reserves?

Links please, if you have them. It's okay if not...

THANKS!

If US attacks China, then China will shoot nuclear missiles on Us cities and take out American satellites. Sure, American forces can overwhelm the Chinese military but I know China can fight a long war with the United States because the economy is good. Also, North Korea and Iran are allies of China. well, China is developing the J-XX stealth fighter similar to the US F-22 raptor. It suppose to be released in a decade from now. Recently, a US aircraft carrier in Japan initially could not detect a submerged Chinese submarine until it came up. Also, China is developing it's own version of Patriot missiles. Russia has provided China with deadly Sunburn and Sizzler missiles. These missiles travel at Mach 2.5 speed leaving Us warships vunerable. But I know for sure that the Us military can invade China since the Chinese army outnumbers US soldiers 5-1.

When the real beneficiaries are American companies.
Did the USA really spend those billions of dollars to help Iraqi people? Before the war the UN did not support the war. Millions of people around the world protested the war. What was it that convinced the Americans so strongly about the need to go to war? I am sure the Iraqis did not want to be invaded. If the Americans really want to help Iraqi people why not offer them all American Citizenship? America can easily accomodate 25 million people.

Under the Taiwan Relations Act, the United States is obliged to defend Taiwan against a nuclear armed China. well, Russia and Israel have supplied China with weapons technology. China is planning to build aircraft carriers since the Chinese military bought Su-33 navy planes. Recently, China has been building warships and submarines. In addition, China has build their own fighter warplanes like the J-10 and bought Russian Su-27s. Also, China has a larger population than America. Should America defend Taiwan over Chinese attack?

The U.S. government is here at hope, and while the military has had trouble winning in Vietnam and Iraq, do you really think they would have any trouble putting down the gun owners in the U.S.? It would be like cannons against pea shooters, as one person said.
