The U.S. government is here at hope, and while the military has had trouble winning in Vietnam and Iraq, do you really think they would have any trouble putting down the gun owners in the U.S.? It would be like cannons against pea shooters, as one person said.

The first thing a totalitarianism government do's when it takes power is to take all weapons away from the citizens. Then they take the rest of your rights away little by little. You'll never know what hit you until it's too late.

This my dear is a loaded question, (pardon the pun) Let me tell you a little story of the IRA in Northern Ireland. During the height of the IRA's power they has fewer than five hundred men. Those five hundred men were able to hold off twenty five percent of the British army for almost three decades. In the end, they were not defeated, they finally signed what amounted to a peace treaty as the British Government granted certain concessions. It has been demonstrated time and time again that determined men with few resources can defeat a larger and better armed military. Examples would be Castro in Cuba (the Bay of Pigs) the Russian invasion of Afghanistan not to mention Black Hawk Down in Somalia. So, yes the fight wouldn't be fair, but Americans never loose when they put their mind to it. Semi-automatic rifles are the biggest fear of military planners when considering the dis-armament of the American people. The plan has been in place for years and new recruits are polled to find out how they feel about firing on fellow Americans. Look to the Presidents inauguration where he promises to protect the Constitution against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC....No, they cannot take our guns away unless we let them...Although they are trying little at a time by passing laws which make firearms more difficult to obtain and keep. There are allot of Americans who are just waiting for the day that the Government tries this, they are itching for war, although they have their own selfish interests at heart. Let us all hope that that day will never come......

Well first of all the military isn't having any problems winning Iraq and didn't have any problems winning in Vietnam. Politics are at fault in both of those cases. If the politicians would leave the military alone and let them do the job they were trained to do both would be victories for America. Vietnamese generals were days away from surrender until jane fonda and walter cronkite started their crap.

Secondly the government of Britain was in Europe but her armies and navies were here. And civilians did contribute greatly to the defeat of the British army.

Thirdly, research the crime rates of the cities in America who have the more strict gun laws. They dwarf the crime rates of those cities who have right to carry laws.

Lastly my government will get my guns when they pry them from my cold dead hands. I have 2 gun cases full and will use them to protect my family from enemies both foreign and domestic. You should only worry about my guns if you threaten me or my loved ones.

Boy those inner city schools really are bad aren't they. You can't even put a meaningful thought together If you are for gun control (which I think is what you are trying to say), then you are in good company. People like

Adolph Hitler

Pol Pot

Joseph Stalin

Kim Jung Ill

All for gun control. How many of these people have you even heard of?

How many of the members of U.S. military enjoy private gun ownership and how many would follow orders from a corrupt government to overturn the constitution? They would lose anyway.

first off most of the people in the military come from gun owning families. What makes you think that if the order came for Soldiers and Marines to disarm the family and friends back home they would not mutiny. I for one swore allegiance to the Constitution.
