If US attacks China, then China will shoot nuclear missiles on Us cities and take out American satellites. Sure, American forces can overwhelm the Chinese military but I know China can fight a long war with the United States because the economy is good. Also, North Korea and Iran are allies of China. well, China is developing the J-XX stealth fighter similar to the US F-22 raptor. It suppose to be released in a decade from now. Recently, a US aircraft carrier in Japan initially could not detect a submerged Chinese submarine until it came up. Also, China is developing it's own version of Patriot missiles. Russia has provided China with deadly Sunburn and Sizzler missiles. These missiles travel at Mach 2.5 speed leaving Us warships vunerable. But I know for sure that the Us military can invade China since the Chinese army outnumbers US soldiers 5-1.

A war over Taiwan would destroy the economies of both nations. The good news is that the people running the People's Republic of China are far more rational than the Muslim extremists that are running The Middle East. I guarantee that the Politicians running China and the Politicians running the United States will find a way to resolve the issue without going to war because neither side wants to fight a war over the issue of Taiwan.

Keep in mind, that China understands the consequences of using nukes just as well as we do. In most liklihood this war would involve conventional forces and massive navies and air forces. As I have said, we wouldn't need to invade China. We would just have to wipe out their navy and air force. A tall order but we could d it. The question is would we be able to take and justify the losses. Right now I would say no. We have adopted a one-China policy which has bsically thrown Tiawan under the bus. The only question like you said, would be if we would honor our treaty obligations.

YES! Why are you wimps so afraid of China? China is nothing to the US military. Besides, we democratic states should stick together against non-democratic states. You sissies would abandon an ally when times get tough? I'm glad I don't have friends like you.
Israel drove through the Russian airdefense system the Syrians bought and got in and out undetected. The Russians make junk. Their missiles are no better. Last year the Huzbullah fired one of those new missiles at an Israeli ship, the ship was hit and damaged and returned to port but didn't sink. It wasn't much bigger than a patrol boat. Being outnumbered 5 to 1 in this day and age is no big deal either.
Knock out the supplies of a larger force their supplies dwindle fast.

No. Taiwan is being isolated by China itself and the United Nations. Like some of China's neighbors such as Tibet, they are going to have to fight their own battles. Besides, the US is stretched to thin military-wise to be jumping into another conflict. Aside from US air power and some of the US navy's hardware, we don't posess enough ground assets to be landing on China's shores.

We can't prevail in a pathetic country like Iraq - how could we ever hope to defeat a country like China? Also, thanks to Bush, Iraq and Walmart we are well on our way to becoming a second rate world economy and power.

You have made a mistake however. If China attacked Taiwan we wouldn't attack the Chinese mainland, we would attack the invading forces. China would not use nukes for the same reason the Soviets never did: our retaliatory nuke arsenal is vast and could completely destroy them. Our navy could sink every mainland ship that entered Taiwanese waters. It would be a slaughter.

no. that's not to insinuate that china doesn't deserve to be invaded or overthrown, it's just not a practical reality. i think taiwan is being wronged by china, but it isn't an important enough situation to warrant the fallout of a war with china.

Although China is a threat to the US and the world, it is not their intention to go to war with the world.

the following are the only legitimate reasons for going to war:
1. another nation's military directly attacks you.
2. a situation like the Nazis where there are atrocities being committed by a government and there is no other way to stop them.
every other reason like "fight them there before they fight us here" is moron redneck assh*le right wing-nut idiotic horsesh*t.
