Have you seen those guys with their sunglasses on and brandishing assault weapons and looking at civilians in Iraq with complete distrust and twitchy fingers on the trigger? and have you seen how are actual soldiers look like they are not mercenaries but loyal brave regular army people doing the job they have been ordered to?

They are all under the age of four so I can't go unaccompanied very easily. Hoew can we get him home? We are barely surviving this, I can't afford a babysitter so I am with them 24/7. We don't care if him comming home means he can't reinlist, but I can't make it with these kids much longer, I lose it on them 20+ times a day and wish I could just walk away from it all... Someone help get my hubby home!!

the U.S., which would probably mean big business telling us what to think, gun murders everywhere, racism in our cities, too much idiotic religion, dumb and corrupt politicians, more pornography, etc. If a neighbouring country fears domination by the U.S., is it any wonder that an Arab country would fear U.S. ways?
Canadians can live with the changes that we get when we elect our left, middle or right-wing parties, even though they will make some changes we won't like, but we are deathly scared of the kind of changes that an American system would make, and we could probably be convinced to fight to prevent that.
So while the Talilban may be nasty, it probably seems more tolerable to the Arabs, including women, than the scary prospect of an American system that even scares Canadians!

Hi, I have a link here to my last question explaining that my grandfather was an RSM during WW2.

I have my interview on Monday at my local Army careers office, so they can size me up and I can ask any questions (but I thought I'd try here first!).

I know that the rank of RSM is a long, long way away for a recruit such as myself, but please tolerate my dream here for a moment.

What sort of qualities do you need to get to RSM? How can I give myself the best chance of getting there in many years, are there any jobs I should/ should not do to give myself a better chance?

I know it's a long way off but I'd just like to hear what you think. Do you have to join a particular sort of Regiment to stand the best chance of becoming RSM?

Many thanks.

I'd doing an art project based on war and I need other people's opinions on the subject. Also, when you answer if you could say whether or not you have been personally affected by war, that would be great!

Today on my way to the Beer store I saw a young girl - in full uniform - a cadet - collecting donations for the Army Cadets

So I gave her a twoonie (2 dollars ) and she gave me a little sticker thing that says I supported Canada's Army Cadets
This girl is from the nieghborhood - She could not have been more than a teenager - 17 ish or so
There she stood at attention just like the Vetrans of the war do on or about Nov the 11 - with a donation box waiting in silence for people to give money -- And they do esp to the older Vetrans of the wars on Rememberance day (Nov 11)

When I passed this child and that is what she is - I wondered - When I see the Cadets I see children when I see the Vetrans I see my Grandfather - when I see the regular Armed forces going here or there or marching up and down the square I see really young men and women - friends coworkers

Our young men and women our children our grandfathers

What does the government see and what do you see ?

If a SSgt. in the Air Force encountered a Lt. in the Civil Air Patrol, would the SSgt. be required to salute the Lt. and call him 'Sir'? I wasn't sure if someone in the Civil Air Patrol would really be considered a superior of someone in the actual Air Force, since (even though he has a rank) the Lt. is actually a civilian.

Also, then, would the two be allowed to socialize off base, at a restaurant or the like?

If there are any further details that would be needed for an accurate answer, please let me know and I will provide them as quickly as possible.
